I'm currently working hard on a 10,000 word essay about the gendered division of labour in hunter gatherer societies. Am writing this because when researching the history of gender for my book about trans liberation I found that authors kept making references to the notion that for most of human history men hunted whilst women gathered and looked after children. I decided to investigate these claims and found that reality is much more complicated and there is actually a large amount of variation between societies. The finished video will compile information from around 50 academic sources, mostly journal articles and book chapters. Look forward to sharing it with everyone.

That video isn't online anymore. A bunch of its points are from An Introduction to Feminism by Lorna Finlayson. You should be able to get a free pdf via anna's archive.

The explanations I got while in school for my psychology degrees were overly simplistic. I appreciate you doing this work!
