From the YouTuber participating in it and how interactive the CEO was on discord this doesn't scream illegal and terrible business going on. What I think happened was that they found the clips that they showed and stupidly decided to use and distort them without checking the actual source of said clips. Then it came to light that the clips were what they were, they decided to scrub the ARG and get rid of the traces of their involvement, possibly to avoid any legal troubles they could've faced.
