Re-watching this show and btw the reason so many people got "Game of Thrones vibes" from this show is because George R.R. Martin based A LOT of stuff in Game of Thrones (ASOIAF) on the original novel "Shogun". He's stated that it heavily inspired him. For instance Ochiba no Kata (the heir's mother) inspired him to create Cersei in GOT! So in actuality this show isn't like GOT, GOT is LIKE this show/novel! Pretty cool... Kinda like how some people claimed the new Dune films were "Star Wars ripoffs" when in actuality George Lucas just straight up STOLE a ton of stuff from the Dune novels which came out over a decade before Star Wars! Look it up.
