THE CLONE WARS #38: 2x10 (The Deserter) Reaction

Comments

Personally, I'd recommend watching the movie and the series separately. It hits deeper when you watch them uninterrupted. Plus, you should be jumping straight into REBELS after this and holding off on Bad Batch until later since this is AHSOKA prep. So the best route is to pop on ROTS after episode 130. Then ROTS will be fresh in your head as you then resume with the final arc of the series. It'll devastate you.

No problem at all. For me, it really enhanced the experience since RotS, CW finale and BB premiere all overlap. Great find. Hope you enjoy it.

Gene

I've actually been looking for something like this for awhile. Thanks a lot

#StruggleNation

The final four episodes of Clone Wars weave in throughout Revenge of the Sith. If you guys are interested, here is a fan-made cut that combines RotS, finale four episodes of Clone Wars and the opening episode of Bad Batch. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1h5LR8KljsweLrIvz5Hd7S_dryo_aRjIno89mObnxy_A/edit

Gene

I would say finish Clone Wars first then watch Revenge of the Sith. The rewatch for Revenge of the Sith will be so much better with the whole context of the Clone Wars.

Volume

I’ve seen some people watch the last arc first then the movie or the movie first then the last arc, since the events of both happen at the same time basically

David

Exactly. All of that could have been one post.

I am chill, why the hell are you making a big deal?

As such, the sith eternal in Rise of Skywalker did not violate this rule of 2, because they were really sith cultist/followers/loyalists, not actual sith.

Jaylight

Due to this, Maul was not a true sith till later in the Phantom Menance movie, before that, he was just a Sith Assassin and that is what Palpatine told his master Plaguis.

Jaylight

If they failed, then they did not deserve the power and they get killed by their master and their master takes on a new apprentice.

Jaylight

The apprentice would seek to become powerful enough to one day betray their master and kill them and take on a new apprentice.

Jaylight

This is a rule where there could only be 2 sith at a time, a master to hold the power and an apprentice to crave it.

Jaylight

This was in line with the rule of 2, created 1000 years before by Darth Bane, as a rule to preserve the Sith in the shadows, while they ploted after great sith infighting caused him to be the only sith left. While hiding in the shadows, they would plot their rise and downfall of the Jedi.

Jaylight

Also according to the novel, Palpatine killed Darth Plaugeis on the night he became Chancellor in Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

Jaylight

Also, according to the novel, "Darth Plagueis", he was a Munn and head of the Intergalatic Banking Clan, a clan run by the munns, the munns are an alien species.

Jaylight

Also according to the novel "Darth Plagueis" Palpatine's master, Darth Plaguis "the wise", aka Hego Demask, provided the funds to create the first batch of clones.

Jaylight

I think you are a bit confused about the Empire. The Empire doesn't exist yet. This entire war has been orchestrated by Palpatine in order to engineer the conflict to bring about the Empire as its solution.

Jaylight

I know that is what they are talking about. I am only adding extra information.

Jaylight

Okay? Not sure why you’re telling them this when they weren’t even talking about who does the voice for her. They were talking about Rosario Dawson, who plays Ahsoka in live-action.

Not even gonna lie, I have that scene with Anakin interrogating Poggle, on repeat. He really slapped the shit out of him and then choked him out.

Mel8235

Ashoka Tano's voice actor was Ashley Eckstein.

Jaylight

yup

SpoRTan

It would be interesting to see where you guys fit β€œRevenge of the Sith” because parts of Season 7 runs concurrently with the movie. From what I read they even mention certain things that happen in the movie in the show. I’m going to finish the series up first, I’m on S6 now, and then watch the movie.

Mel8235

The old Clone Wars, I consider anything from that that doesn't contradict the newer Clone Wars as Canon and anything that does as not Canon. But it's also really dope, and you should check it out one day, it's also on Disney+.

Jaylight

It's actually 134 episodes, not 133, and episodes 67/68 are the half way point.

Jaylight

You guys have probably seen the Invincible season two trailer by now. In addition, they released a prequel special for it on Prime related to Atom Eve. You guys should check that special out.
