As a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, I rate this movie 10 out of 10 perfection! Best movie ever! I also have played Sonic the Hedgehog games on Sega Genesis during the 90s as a kid and even the other games. I also watched other cartoons, even the anime Sonic X. In the classic cartoon called The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog from the 90s, Robotnik's henchmen robots are Scratch (chicken robot), Grounder (green robot with drills and continuous tracks) and the monkey robot named Coconuts. Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts are actually not in Sonic SatAM. I'm so happy that you also know Sonic SatAM. The characters in Sonic SatAM are the Freedom Fighters named Sally Acorn, Antoine Depardieu, Bunnie Rabbot, Rotor the Walrus, Dulcy the Dragon, and Uncle Chuck. Even there's Dr. Robotnik's nephew named Snively. I also read the Archie's comic of Sonic the Hedgehog featuring SatAM characters. I love those characters. Amy Rose and Metal Sonic appearing in this movie is so awesome. I don't know if Paramount is going to bring SatAM characters in Sonic 4 movie and they only brought characters from Sonic games. I heard the SatAM characters were featured in Sonic Spinball video game as only cameo appearances which I don't know if that counts. To be honest, I really wish and hope that Paramount could bring the SatAM characters into live-action on Sonic 4 movie. When it's just Tom and Maddie are home alone, the background music is the Green Hill Zone theme from the very first Sonic game. My most favorite part in this movie is Sonic and Shadow teaming up and becoming super hedgehogs while the background music plays the song of "Live and Learn" from Sonic Adventure 2 video game. Towards the ending, when Dr. Robotnik said, "Vete con dios, puerco erizoto" to Shadow, it means "Go with god, stinking hedgehog" in Spanish. In the video game series, Maria Robotnik (who was Gerald's granddaughter and Ivo's cousin) was terminally ill. Her life ended abruptly during a G.U.N. raid on the ARK, as she was shot while aiding Shadow's escape. Jim Carrey did announced his retirement in 2022 but he came out of the retirement for Sonic 3 movie because he needed the money. I'm so glad he's back to acting career. It's funny that Ivo and Gerald break the fourth wall and mentions they are both played by Jim Carrey. The dancing scene is the best part. Hahaha! Very cool that the Eggman theme song plays as Robotnik's phone ringtone but he picks up the phone immediately so it only plays for two seconds. Another funny moment is that Wade is playing hockey with the Master Emerald while he's guarding it for Knuckles. If you're curious about how did Wade and Knuckles met, there's a spin off series called Knuckles currently streaming on Paramount+. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 movie will premiere on March 19, 2027.

2025-01-26 17:21:16 +0000 UTCI always liked this movies. It’s fun, innocent entertainment. I do remember watching the anime Sonic X when I was in middle school. Never owned a Sega console growing up aside from a Sonic handheld game from McDonalds. Sonic X and Sonic 3 appears to be an adaptation for the Sonic Adventure 2 game. Reading the plot, it seems like the movie and anime adapted the story well.
