Completely forgot that Brisby's eldest daughter Theresa was voiced by Shannen Doherty, who passed away from cancer last year. I watched Charmed regularly as a kid. This was Don Bluth's first movie. It's quite the debut. Fantastic cast and gorgeous animation. Jerry Goldsmith's score is just beautiful. Dom DeLuise (Jeremy) was a comic actor who did many Mel Brooks films. One of his roles was Pizza the Hut in Spaceballs. DeLuise and Don Bluth became good friends making NIMH and he played in many other Bluth films, like An American Tail and All Dogs Go To Heaven. Bluth didn't direct Fievel Goes West. The only sequel to one of his films he directed was Bartok the Magnificent (Anastasia spin-off released direct-to-video). My Don Bluth movie growing up was Titan A.E. That was one of the first dvd I owned and it was on constant rotation. I discovered this film much later so I don't know how I would feel about it as a kid, but I watched lots of non-kids movies growing so I would probably be fine. The film also as a really happy ending, which helps balance out the darker events of the story.
