Added 2021-09-27 16:01:03 +0000 UTCWelcome to the WILD CARD POLL- Special Halloween/Horror Edition!!!
Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me a scary movie to watch....(that sounded a lot better in my head).
The scary season is upon us and we have decided to have a short Poll dedicated to some scary movies!! Help us by voting on a movie below to get us in the mood for this festive season!
Please keep in mind that most requested movies we are blind to. We don't know exactly what genre or how popular most movies are and rely on your comments to help guide us.
Thank you for all and happy voting!

2021-10-03 02:46:01 +0000 UTCI really, really hope that you will continue with the Halloween Franchise! Especially since Halloween Kills is coming out this month (not that it matters for that timeline). I would love to see you go through all in order. Don't let people talk you out of Halloween 4, 5 & Curse. H20 is definitely one of the best!

2021-10-02 22:14:35 +0000 UTCI'm sure Scream 2 will never be reacted to. it never wins

2021-10-02 17:08:41 +0000 UTCHi! I’m brand new here and I’m just suggesting even though we all love The Scream Movies but you should wait on them Bc they give away so much about older scary movies even Scream 2! There will be more Spoilers I’m sure. Since I’m new I don’t know if you’ve watched Friday the 13th yet or not but go there if you haven’t. I’ll be watching if you have!! Thanks!
Christine
2021-10-01 23:24:02 +0000 UTCWhich night of the living dead? If we’re talking about the 90s one then ok
Vince
2021-10-01 02:06:01 +0000 UTCYou gotta watch doctor sleep since you guys watched the shining but I recommend the directors cut it’s much better
MovieFanatic
2021-09-30 22:12:42 +0000 UTCI voted for Night of the Living Dead as it's a classic. However, you guys need to watch the quintessential Halloween movie - "Arsenic and Old Lace" (1944) with Cary Grant. It's REALLY good!

2021-09-29 19:23:43 +0000 UTCI do wish they would watch at least the first Child's Play since that Chucky show is coming out soon so that might be a fun little watch for Halloween season :)

2021-09-28 23:39:38 +0000 UTCI voted for NIGHT of the LIVING DEAD so that it could have a chance in the poll. They might enjoy it not for how scary it is (which it honestly isn't nowadays), but for its relevance to the politically turbulent 1960s, and for the fact that it single-handedly launched the zombie genre.

2021-09-28 07:45:27 +0000 UTCI'd like to add to your comment with a minor dispute. The Exorcist shocking scenes aren't just done for shock value, they're intricately woven into the narrative. They're there for narrative purposes. True shock value moments aren't and are just there to simply shock with no other significance to the story or characters. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll be vague about it. Those that know will know and those that don't won't: the too-much-for-tv scene was the extreme event and experience needed to push a non-religious, non-spiritual person to finally considering other-worldly causation behind this. The 360 was to add to this and mock and taunt the character by showing what it did to her "babysitter", that's why the voice changes to that of the "babysitter."

2021-09-27 23:03:33 +0000 UTCI agree. The first 3 films in that franchise are quite entertaining.

2021-09-27 21:44:35 +0000 UTCNot surprised that The Conjuring is winning. It is great, as well as the sequels. Scream 2 is just as good as the original. I just want more reactions to the 80s classes for nostalgia factor. Here are my suggestions for next poll: Christine (1983) The Dead Zone (1983) Fright Night (1985) Child's Play (1988) The Blob (1988) They would all be entertaining reactions!

2021-09-27 21:27:54 +0000 UTCwhere is the childs play franchise?
Dimi
2021-09-27 20:48:18 +0000 UTCWhy are so many people concerned that certain films might be 'too much' for them? They're adults and they've seen a lot of intense films at this stage (I'm impressed with Mum) and TBH one of the most intense films for shocking moments is the Exorcist which is a mainstream cinema classic.
Aaron Barlow
2021-09-27 20:07:11 +0000 UTCThey've seen all sorts of gory, intense films. Perhaps in the beginning it would've been too much but they've grown and it's not gory at least. Besides the characters, especially the Warrens make up for it. Conjuring 2 is better, I hope they watch that one.
Aaron Barlow
2021-09-27 20:01:35 +0000 UTCConjuring is great, Conjuring 2 is brilliant and even better! Way better than a slasher flick YAWN.
Aaron Barlow
2021-09-27 19:57:22 +0000 UTCGo Conjuring and Annabelle!! Paranormal activity is one great film/franchise that's missing here.
Aaron Barlow
2021-09-27 19:56:31 +0000 UTCYes. Halloween 2018
Brandon N.
2021-09-27 19:39:24 +0000 UTCThe Conjuring hands down

2021-09-27 18:36:09 +0000 UTCI consider myself a diehard Halloween fan and though I have watched H3 and gave it a chance, i refuse to re-watch or own it. It should've been a Goodebumps story or something of that nature or been its own thing separate from Halloween.

2021-09-27 18:01:25 +0000 UTCVenom The Invisible Man Ready or Not Would all be fun reactions for Halloween 🎃
2021-09-27 17:23:53 +0000 UTCI feel like i'm in the minority here, but rooting for Halloween 3. Super creative and weird horror film, dismissed because it's not connected to Michael Myers, but the original vision of John Carpenter was to make an anthology series. I like some of the other films, but I actually think none of them compare to the original, and that the anthology idea was the way to go. But the studio and general audience prevented it. Also Halloween 3 has one of the best endings in horror in my opinion. So much fun. And that soundtrack !
Erwin Rogier
2021-09-27 17:18:40 +0000 UTCcome on Scream 2!. the conjuring is way to intense. and not very good
Michael Hamilton
2021-09-27 17:17:40 +0000 UTCYesss! And H3 shouldn't even be in the Halloween franchise. Doesn't belong.
☆C~H~A~N~D~L~E~R☆
2021-09-27 17:09:09 +0000 UTCWill Halloween 2018 be in the polls soon? Its a direct sequel to the first meaning from 2 forward was erased from the storyline.

2021-09-27 17:08:18 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, The Ring is just about the scariest a PG-13 movie can be. So of course, I'm voting for that. (Along with Dr. Sleep - Director's Cut - which really is well-done.) And if you're on the lookout for another October movie, I cannot recommend "The Others" (2001) enough. It's a wonderful period piece with beautiful cinematography, understated acting and great atmosphere. It stars Nicole Kidman as a high-strung mother who has to look after her kids in a lonely mansion while her husband fights in WWII. (As far as "horror," it's mild enough that everyone can enjoy it.)

2021-09-27 17:03:18 +0000 UTCDoctor Sleep the Director's Cut please! Honestly I think the Conjuring might be too intense for them.
Lemuel Daher
2021-09-27 16:42:50 +0000 UTCHalloween (2018) please not Halloween 3/H20🙏
2021-09-27 16:42:01 +0000 UTCDo doctor sleep the directors cut
MovieFanatic
2021-09-27 16:26:50 +0000 UTCWhen my husband and I were dating we saw The Conjuring at the theater. I watched the floor almost the whole movie. It bothers me to this day.
2021-09-27 16:19:14 +0000 UTCAs DK Lounge said, if Doctor Sleep is to be watched one day, please let it be the director's cut. It's nice to see a genre-specific poll. I've said it before, but I'd like to see them outside a particular season
Shehab Dawoud
2021-09-27 16:19:04 +0000 UTCCan you please add The Babysitter (2017) to the next underdog poll?
Adam Grunther
2021-09-27 16:15:46 +0000 UTC+1 for the Addams Family films and The Thing.
JMiles
2021-09-27 16:15:41 +0000 UTCThe Conjuring please!!
Daniel R
2021-09-27 16:15:00 +0000 UTCGo into Doctor Sleep knowing absolutely nothing about it, meaning no looking at thumbnails or screensavers and no reading the description on wikipedia or whatever streaming service you're watching it on as both the descriptions and the thumbnails give away far too much. All you need to know is to watch the directors cut and that it's a Stephen King adaption As for Annabelle and The Conjuring, they're part of the same continuity and you're supposed to watch The Conjuring before Annabelle
2021-09-27 16:10:41 +0000 UTCThe Thing (1982) The Haunting of Hill House (it’s a limited series not a movie but it’s perfect for October) Not Scary but good for October: The Addams Family Addams Family Values Clue Practical Magic
