LOST 111 | FULL AKIMA Reactions

Hi Storm and all! I seriously hope you guys are avoiding the YouTube comments for this show because, WOW!, are people dumb about posting spoilers from future episodes (I'm literally seeing bits of info that we only find out about in seasons 3 and 4!!!). And when someone points out what they posted is a spoiler, they just argue and refuse to take it down. It's pretty bad.

Def a top 3 episodes of the first season, and one of the best in the entire show. What an amazing rollercoaster. Jack's cry as he tells the truth about his dad. His face. The music. Pure perfection. Still wish Mom would eventually join you guys!! But nonetheless... can't wait for more!!

This was the episode which made me realize I was into this show for the long haul, confirmed I was no longer watching primarily because Dom from LOTR was in it, and I just wanted to support the actors from those films. I realized I cared about most of the characters a whole lot. The episode runs on all cylinders checking all the boxes a great drama should have. The writers included edge of your seat suspense, character building, parental moral dilemma, character's putting aside their differences for the greater good, humor, mysticism, concerned sibling love, unexpected emotional climax and 2 cliffhanger mystery endings(All they wanted was Claire, metal in the jungle). All with great "in the moment" acting, by Lilly and Fox specifically. There's something about Jack's determination to try to make sure another person doesn't take the two lives of a pregnant person on his watch, even though he's exhausted, which is just plain heroic. Also the mystery of what Charlie must've went though to try to protect Claire, how they were transported and kidnapped,, still engrosses me to this day. Fantastic cinematography and direction. I gotta look up what Stephen Williams is doing nowadays because he's such a great director, directed many of my favorites.. Even though I loved the ending the episode 4 Locke flashback tons, this was my first real favorite episode as a whole.

Oh, man. I remember seeing this episode for the first time. The whole scene with Charlie broke me. Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly’s acting is amazing!
