UNDERDOG REQUEST POLL- Vote on movies & request here!!!

Welcome to another exciting UNDERDOG REQUEST POLL!!

I, Tom, will be your host! Storm and I have been reading your opinions and taking down your requests for this POLL.  We may alter this POLL in the future since we have so many different ideas as to what an UNDERDOG POLL should consist of. We want to keep this fun and fair for everyone here. So please bare with us as we learn together what works best.

Please keep in mind that most requested movies we are blind to. We don't know exactly what genre or how popular most movies are and rely on your comments to help guide us. We go by requests that you all make, popular and rare...which this POLL is meant for just the rare and struggling requests that need a helping hand.

Also, this POLL is very new. Our main POLL before had popular and rare requests on there. Some lasted longer on the POLLS to give them a fighting chance, not because they were popular. Some of those rare requests may move over to this POLL over time.

Thank you for all your UNDERDOG REQUESTS and happy voting!!

the goonies, the mask jim carrey's best movie in my opinion, the two paddington movies are ideal family films, disney the hunchback of the notre dame ! etc

Dimi

Rocky won eh? Ahhh well, plenty of time for other films. :)

Namey Namerson

It's more ironic than fitting, considering what underdog means and what Rocky's about and how it's the complete opposite of what this poll's been about thus far.. I mean, Rocky winning by unanimous vote is just the cherry on top of the irony.

So glad your still doing this. Hope to see your reaction to less popular movies such as the prestige, prisoners, Face Off and/or Airforce one sometime. Some of my favorites :)

Abeer Nasser Alkethairi

Hey storm (and tom if you're reading!!) this may be late, and probably won't be considered for a while, but I'd like to start planting the seed, sort of speak. I'd like to request Clue (1985) if you guys haven't already seen it, of course!! It's based on the board game and stars tim curry and a lot of TALENTED actors that make probably the best murder mystery comedy of all time (in my opinion lol) I think this is a fun film that all of you guys would enjoy immensely! I'll try to request it as much as I can for you guys to see it and take note of it :) Hopefully others will agree (or maybe have already been requesting it) It's literally one of my favorite movies of all time and it would be such a treat to watch your reactions to it! :D

alo bermudez

I'd love to see your reactions to Still Alice and/or Mask (1985).

Sierra

Gone in 60 seconds

Oh man, I second the 90s family classics. Would love to see those!

rhaegar

Fitting that Rocky of all movies would be winning a poll dubbed "Underdog".

Mario

Never heard of Dogfight... but how about Girl Fight (2000)? It was Michelle Rodriguez' first movie and it's REALLY great. You can see she comes by the "tough girl" thing naturally. :) Another underdog movie I think you'd all really enjoy is Freedom Writers (2007) with HIlary Swank. Lots of laughs, lots of tears, based on a true story.

zammmerjammer

The Social Network, Dunkirk, Reservoir Dogs, The Wolf of Wall Street, There Will Be Blood are some of my recommendations!

Pinhead Larry

I'm sure they're trying their best! There's sooo many requests with such a large variety. Also, I've never heard of Rocky until just now when I searched it up. I think there's a song that's familiar to me that may have come from that movie? I think that's the case. I was born in 2001 so that's probably a big reason why I've never heard of this movie. I think it's completely normal for some people not to have heard or be very familiar with popular things. And I think the underdog movies are picked based on how much they're being requested? Like how many people are requesting them? Regardless, Dawn, Kim, Mom, and now Tom, and anyone else who works on this channel and patreon are very hard workers! They have 1,093 patrons; that's a lot of people to please! And every single one of those people have preferences. I'm very positive that that is hard to work around. Eventually, they will get to whatever movie it is you want them to see. :) There's not enough time for all of it! They have personal lives too. I hope I'm not coming off rude! <3

Guys... Rocky? Really? I understand not knowing what's popular or what isn't with some things... but Rocky? That's like not knowing who Michael Jordan is just because you're not into basketball. That's usually a sure fire way of knowing if something is popular, if you're made very familiar with the name of someone or something despite not being into whatever that name is part of. Also, what's with movies appearing 4 times in 5 weeks (including turns on the Popular Poll) on the Underdog Poll like Heat, 12 Years A Slave? I understand that being a thing on the Popular Poll, cause it's in it's name; that the more popularly requested movies get on it, no matter how many chances they've been given to win per month. That should not be a thing on the Underdog Poll. The Underdog Poll should have a fresh batch of movies every other week because it's not suppose to be about what gets requested the most... Nothing like waiting every other week to see the same popularly requested movies on the Underdog poll... And yet any hopes to change this to what it should be is listed only under "maybe" in this post. Changes suggested that don't affect the main poll or the majority at all are constantly delayed out of fear of losing more members, meanwhile the problem involves people not happy with the popular poll results leaving. The majority already here isn't going to leave as long as they get what they went EVERY week like they always do and always will. That's understandable. It's the people in the middle and the bottom leaving because there is no real compromise that considers them and their requests. And changes to address this aren't given proper time and thought and them are either poorly implemented like this (it's been 3 Underdog Polls atm) or not implemented at all. And that's not understandable. It's an all or nothing setup here. And the Underdog poll has been a total disappointment with huge name, pop-cultural iconic movies like The Karate Kid, Spielberg's Gremlins (Yeah if it's Spielberg it's likely popular, that's another good metric of popularity) and now Rocky likely to win... All names that should be very familiar even if you never watched them because they're still pop-culturally referenced or parodied to this day everywhere. Sigh. And I actually like Rocky, but I just don't like the implications it has on this poll and the self-defeating pattern of this poll that it contributes to. The timing is awful with Dawn being sick, which really sucks, but ugh I'm thinking of making December my last month here. I'm just one of those in the minority that just doesn't have a voice here and that's not good when joining this Patreon is suppose to be like joining a community. Just can't feel like I'm part of one if you're made to feel like you're outside of it at every turn (speaking of which randomly choosing a single-service - Netflix in this case - restricted movie series "The Christmas Chronicles" that you can't even rent anywhere didn't help with this exclusionary issue) month on end.

Can't wait for your guys next reaction! My reccomendations are the Maze Runner series... Stardust... Brave... and Edward Scizzorhands since it is Christmas! :) I hope you're all doing well and looking forward to Christmas and (the hopefully better) New Year!

12 Years A Slave is an amazing movie... but probably not the sort of thing you want to watch over Christmas, lol.

Falink523

12 Years a Slave is a tough one. Definitely will not fill you with the holiday spirit.

I have mixed emotions about the inclusion of “The Greatest Showman.” I absolutely love the movie and have probably watched it two hundred times. However, some of its greatest pleasures are the striking cinematography, set design and of course, the songs. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that since the pandemic, everyone (except Dawn) are watching movies in really compromised quality, and so they'd be seeing The Greatest Showman in a way that doesn't do it justice. I'd almost prefer that they save the movie until they can all get together and watch it on the HD set. (Hopefully next year, after a vaccine rollout.) Other thoughts: I'm happy that "The Others" continues to show up on polls, as I requested it in the past. ... Also, is "Dogfight" the 1991 character drama with River Phoenix and Lili Taylor? Interesting inclusion, if true. Or is it the movie from 2016. (I'd actually never heard of this newer "Dogfight," and didn't know it existed until just now when I looked up on IMDB what year the River Phoenix movie came out.)

Here are my Underdog movie requests: Breakdown (1997) Dante's Peak (1997) As Good as It Gets (1997) The Game (1997) Cliffhanger (1993) Also, here are some additional family movie suggestions: Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) The Mighty Ducks (1992) Beethoven (1992) Dennis the Menace (1993) Rookie of the Year (1993) Angels in the Outfield (1994) Getting Even with Dad (1994) Little Giants (1994) Man of the House (1995) Mousehunt (1997)

the karate kid remake 2010!!

Anne

Iron Giant will be back, it's too good of a movie not to be selected eventually. I've actually never seen Rango but heard many good things.

Justin S.

Looks like Rocky has a great chance of winning, which I'm happy about as it's in my all time top 10. But I'd really love it if you would react to Heat one day. You'd probably have to take it upon yourselves to watch it, because it doesn't look like it's winning a poll any time soon. It's De Niro vs Pacino.. I just don't get people some times.

Shehab Dawoud

Good Will Hunting is a must watch.

Aaron Barlow

Hi Kevin! Yeah.. many didnt like them on here saying they were popular and should be on the popular poll. They may end up back here if the votes are small, or some may end up being random selections in the future. Thanks for being a fan! :)

Storm Akima

Are we getting The Social Network, Bruce Almighty or Good Will Hunting? These have all been near the top in past polls but they don't seem to be here anymore.

Kevin

Yes, definitely agree with both of those choices. True Lies is Arnold's 2nd best movie in my opinion and they have already reacted to the first. Another good Gene Hackman action picture from the 90s was Enemy of the State with Will Smith. I really enjoyed that film and it's a bit more intelligent than most films of it's type.

Lot of good choices for the Underdog poll here. Whiplash and Heat are two of my favorites. I'm glad to see a couple of my suggestions on here, at least for the attention. Meet Joe Black is good Drama/Romance flick and might be Brad Pitt's most underrated film. It has good music and there is some unexpected humorous moments as well. The Sum of All Fears is a really good action/drama with Ben Affleck and Morgan Freeman and it's been a bit forgotten. It's part of the Jack Ryan series and it might be the first in chronological order, regarding the movies. It would be the cool if that film could spark watching the rest of them eventually which include Hunt For Red October (most people's favorite), Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, and Shadow Recruit. There are four more actors that play the role, including the good TV series as well. Similar to James Bond but more realistic and not as nearly as many movies to go through for total completion.

Justin S.

I don't request often anymore, don't see a point; however, I figured I throw these out here, just in case: "True Grit" (2010) "Sunshine" (2007) "Now You See Me" (2013) "Trouble with the Curve" (2012)

Darius.

Rocky won..yeahh

Black Swan , Dunkirk , The Social Network , The Trial Of The Chicago 7 , The King's Speech , Apollo 13 , Cast Away , American Beauty , Rush , Brokeback Mountain , Capote , Birdman , and The Shape Of Water are great underdog titles to react to.

jonathan Edge

Not sure if this is the right list to request. After watching the heartwarming Coco reaction i thought about a movie a saw a few years ago and which can also destroy a lot of napkins. Very unusual, in the style of old silent movies with text cards. Black and white but brilliant - Blancanieves.

hunchback of notre dame (1996)

I've been voting 12 years a slave every time, hope it wins soon :)

I hope 12 Years a Slave wins. It was one of the best movies of the past decade. Underdog requests: La La Land (not sure if this is popular or not; never seems to get a lot of votes on main polls) Love, Simon Room Just Mercy School of Rock Remember the Titans Split

rhaegar

Whiplash is one of my favourite movies of all time. Also, The LEGO Movie. You guys should watch The LEGO Movie.

Rocky is the better choice

Erasmo

Rocky, the greatest underdog movie, should win the underdog list!

Desmond King Descepticon

Rocky please

cori washington

Dang, no Iron Giant or Rango.

Matthew Richson

Did you guys see Meet the Parents first? That movie is super funny, but if you've seen it already I'll be down for a Fockers reaction lol

Daniel R

Hi Tom, if I could say for Fockers, it's that it is Meet the Parents first, then it's Meet the Fockers. But it's okay, that the difficulties of a sequel without the Number 2 in the title. ;D

George Bean

The Others is highly underrated and Rocky franchise is just awsome.

Amardeep Singh

Whoever recommended Rocky, and Meet the Fockers, thank you.

Erasmo

True Lies is a fun and great action comedy with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis. Crimson Tide with Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman would also be great. Both are great movies but don't have a lot of success on the main poll. Maybe they would be better on the underdog poll

Tomcats62

Against my better judgement, I'm gonna hold out hope that Heat FINALLY wins
