The Fifth Element | FULL AKIMA Reactions

OMG, I love this movie! I was curious how Mom and Kim would take this, but they seemed to enjoy it too! I forgot how many similarities this had with our Avatar shows! Love the imagination and humor behind this!

The Fifth Element | FULL AKIMA Reactions

After seeing your reactions to Gary Oldman as Zorg, I've realized that you mostly know him from the Harry Potter and Dark Knight movies where he plays heroic characters. However, prior to those movies, Oldman became famous for portraying villainous and/or deranged characters. The role that propelled him to stardom was the title character in Dracula (1992). In fact, casting him as Sirius Black ( a character that appeared to be a psychopath only to reveal himself as a good guy) was a great trick from the movie's creative team on the audience. P-S: I have a big soft spot for the Dracula movie he starred in. It was directed by Francis Ford Coppola (the Godfather trilogy), written by James V. Hart (Hook) and co-starred Winona Ryder. It's a gorgeous gothic romance/horror story. It would be a great movie to watch for Halloween season one day.

That was a fun reaction. You should definitely check out Luc Besson's other big movies like "The Big Blue" , "Nikita", "Le Dernier Combat" and "Leon: The Professional"

Hope to get the Orville watched!

I'd definitely recommend subtitles when watching, especially with movies that can be difficult to follow already and then you have to rely on your ears to help build the story in your head; like in this reaction, Kim asked if Leeloo said "Priest" or "Please", which can definitely cause your thought patterns to veer off in different directions based on what you thought was said... Of course, its just a suggestion, maybe you guys are used to watching without subtitles for so long your ears can pick up things a lot better than subtitle-watchers like myself. As always, keep up the great reactions!!

p.s, watching the The Boys, i couldnt help but remember all the Temple of Doom warnings, it still tickles me. I know, i know, its all about "managing expectations" but, cmon...yall made Mom watch a mans head get crushed between a womans legs and yall worried about Temple of Doom Ha Ha

Someone gotta explain to me..... Until now i only watched movie reactions here..but yesterday i wanted to rewatch The Boys before starting the 2nd season, so i subscribed to tv reactions for the first time. All this time i thought Storm was the calm one who could handle to watch most things, while Kim is the one who squirms in her seat, leans forwards and backwards, holds her head, raises her arms over her head, bites her hand, hugs her legs, hangs over the couch arm until she is almost falling over lol And then i watch The Boys, and i see its totally the opposite. Kim is chilling, easily handling everything, while Storm is freaking out, even when nothing is actually happening lol i am confused hehe

I have to admit, I'm always taken a little aback when Dawn tells us that Kim and Mom literally know nothing about the movie they're about to watch. I think very seldom in art (movies, music, books) is the experience enhanced by having zero context to put things in. Knowing a *little* something going in - genre, general tone, the director - can help whet the appetite, adjust expectations and even better understand it. Also, I never expect my movie requests to actually win polls, but I'm at least hoping for surprise/secondary reactions. We're told that Kim/Mom pick movies they feel like watching. But if the ladies are completely in the dark about many titles, I wonder what motivates them to pick one vs. another.

Isn't this that movie with that sex scene at the end? So many questions! How was that tube even remotely comfortable?! Did they measure the heights of both the characters before constructing it? What would they have done if they got finished building it, and found out they were too tall? Said, "Sorry, you're gonna have to wait another week before you bang it out, we need to build an extension!"?

Not everything needs to be really good, sometimes good is good enough.

Recently I was fearing 'Oh no, I love this movie... but I forget just how *much* is in it' haha. They introduce all the crazy elements slowly enough at least which I liked. Glad to hear Kim and Mom enjoyed it, about to see their take :D
