2020-09-06 22:12:06 +0000 UTCiirc (and correct me if I'm wrong), they said that when they have time, they will also randomly select a less voted movie to watch as well. So while the movie that wins the poll will definitely by seen, the movie that only got 1% of the vote also has a chance to be seen as well.

2020-09-05 19:33:16 +0000 UTCWell, I agree to some extent, but, there's ways to be successful & still experience different cinema, not just popular culture. With this in mind, remember, "popular culture" isn't everything: If that were the case, we'd see reactions like "42" because of Chadwick Boseman. Major movies like, "Now You See Me", "Star Trek: Into Darkness" or "Pacific Rim" [which is on the Poll] aren't being chosen. By the way, those movies came out in 2013, along with "Captain Phillips", "Her" & "Gravity". So, obviously, there's something else going on. For some reason, folks seem to equate different taste to bad quality, excusing it somehow. I'm optimistic, it's just difficult when the demographic is clearly divided.
Darius.
2020-09-05 03:32:48 +0000 UTCLooks like the Poll is still active by mistake but the winner is not going to change. I guarantee they will all enjoy Forrest Gump.
Justin S.
2020-09-05 01:42:32 +0000 UTCI agree with your idea . No movie should be banished from a poll forever , because it's not as popular as the other . I think films like "The Social Network" , "Dunkirk" , "Good Will Hunting" , "A Beautiful Mind" , "Black Swan" and "No Country For Old Men" can be just as thrilling , captivating , and awe inspiring as the mainstream movies can be to .

2020-09-04 17:14:33 +0000 UTCI agree, but that extends to any movie that recently received the spotlight in pop culture. A suggestion would be to carry the votes over from poll to poll - eventually earning enough votes over time that it'll get selected. Or by creating multiple polls for the month and organizing participantd by relative popularity or genre. But it is their decision how to run their channel and you can definitely see how successful they are by nearly any measure. At the risk of sounding cynical, by reacting to what pop culture dictates they ensure success in their endeavors.
Michael McGee
2020-09-04 16:58:25 +0000 UTCTwo polls might be best because it might be too overwhelming to have a poll for each "genre". Although, they could switch it up each week with an action and sci-fi poll one week, and a comedy and drama poll the next.
Justin S.
2020-09-04 09:45:10 +0000 UTCOut of anxiety of sounding like a broken record... I would like to remind everyone, the obvious discrepancy in demographic; it's baffling that a Movie like "Justice League" can garner 10% of the votes, but something like "Captain Phillips" can only get 2%. For the record, no, watching "Justice League" just to reach the "better movies", is not a good enough reason to me.
Darius.
2020-09-04 07:43:01 +0000 UTCI have an idea, can we make two separate movie polls? One for mainstream films and the other that does not have mainstream blockbuster films? Movies like Good Will Hunting, True Romance, The Godfather, Dunkirk, The Social Network and others are great films that are losing to the 37th Transformers film
Pinhead Larry
2020-09-04 07:21:31 +0000 UTCI agree that the Lethal Weapon movies would be quite fun reactions as well as the Mission Impossible series. I'm surprised to not see any of them make a poll yet. Also, Jackie Brown might be my favorite Tarantino movie.
Justin S.
2020-09-04 01:06:17 +0000 UTCAgreed. I enjoy their reactions (at least for the movies I've seen) and appreciate the variety, but I wish they would do the polls by genre or something instead of a huge mix from different genres. Like one week you could do a 'comedy' poll with four or five comedy films to pick from and then the next week a 'drama' poll and so on. Having so many options means the blockbusters will usually win over a lesser known but great movie like "A Beautiful Mind".
Jeff I.
2020-09-03 22:22:02 +0000 UTCLethal weapon movies, Oceans 11 movie series, Mission impossible movie series would all be great. Jackie Brown, which is a Quentin Tarentino movie, is great. You all should continue the Star Trek movies.

2020-09-03 20:22:08 +0000 UTCScott Pilgrim!! Let's go! Also, if you enjoy Aubrey Plaza, you have to check out Ingrid Goes West. Ice Cube's son O'Shea Jackson Jr is a huge standout in this very underrated movie.

2020-09-03 08:03:01 +0000 UTCThought I’d repeat a few past suggestions. All of these are appropriate for everyone. 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE (2016): A small-cast suspense movie about a woman who gets into a car accident and wakes up in a bunker. She’s told by a rather intimidating John Goodman that America has been attacked and that she can’t leave. (This all happens in the first reel, so this isn’t a spoiler.) Despite the name, this is a standalone story and is NOT a continuation of any other movie. I kind of admire the audacious way the plot may or may not fly off the rails at points. THE OTHERS (2001): A beautifully-shot, spooky movie starring Nicole Kidman, perfect for the autumn season. Everything here feels so classy: the leisurely pacing, the period setting, muted cinematography and music score (written by Alejandro Amenabar, who also wrote and directed the movie). HELLBOY: Extended Director’s Cut (2004): Comic book movie before the modern explosion in popularity of the genre. Hellboy is a demon from Hell, raised by a loving human, who uses his abilities to fight for good. I really like how, despite the potentially dark premise, all the characters are somewhat nonplussed as they go about their business. Some are downright depressed. Like many Guillermo Del Toro movies, the real treat is the gothic set design and rich cinematography. Marco Beltrami’s music is also a standout.

2020-09-03 00:39:34 +0000 UTCLet's just have 40 different polls then. One movie per poll! That should do it!

2020-09-02 19:45:40 +0000 UTCI agree. This was why Transformers would always win over everything else for a while. It's not the fault of voters but just categories.
Kelvin
2020-09-02 17:45:00 +0000 UTCI think there should be a poll for big blockbusters , super hero movies , dramas , and small independent films once every week , so that films big and small can have a chance, instead of the big ones winning every single time. It's not fair , in my opinion to put films like "Good Will Hunting", and "A Beautiful Mind" against films like "The 5th Element" , and a giant Oscar juggernaut like "Forrest Gump" , and "Mrs. Doubtfire" . There should be different polls for different kinds of films and i think that it would be beneficial for all of us if this change is implemented along with a reduced number of choices for each poll . Just a suggestion .
jonathan Edge
2020-09-02 12:00:05 +0000 UTCYeah, I agree that the polls are too large and I just counted that 14 movies on the poll are at 2%, 1%, or 0%. I definitely support having multiple polls that are more genre specific, so maybe have at least two polls each week but they don't necessarily have to react to the winner of each poll immediately because I know they only have time for two movie reactions a week right now.
Justin S.
2020-09-02 07:06:33 +0000 UTCSo, this Poll does have more variety this time around [I'm glad], but, I still think we should have only 5-8 to vote from. 25+ is just too much. Also, recommendations: "Tron Legacy" (2010) "Inside Man" (2006) "Stranger than Fiction" (2006) "Attack the Block" (2011)

2020-09-02 00:20:03 +0000 UTCYes. Patreon has a lot of "quirks" like this that are pretty annoying. It's not very user-friendly for interaction. I've noticed the heart thing too. Even worse is that sometimes after you've posted a comment and refreshed the page, your comment is gone. (I now write longer comments separately and paste them to Patreon, just in case.) I don't feel confident that comments have actually posted unless they're still there after a couple refreshes.

2020-09-01 20:39:30 +0000 UTCRandom question: Does anyone else notice that if you "heart" a comment then come back to check in on the poll again, you notice that you have apparently "hearted" comments you didn't actually? And the ones you did are blank? This happens to me all the time.

2020-09-01 12:45:58 +0000 UTCI felt obligated to vote for 12 Monkeys again, simply because it feels like a blessing whenever it appears on a poll. But I'm also fine with the fact that Forrest Gump seems to be taking an early lead.

2020-09-01 12:45:25 +0000 UTCI honestly think from here on out, they could watch the remaining DC movies in any order. They don't really flow chronologically like the MCU movies did. It might even be beneficial if they watched Aquaman *before* Justice League (even though it was released afterward), so that they're familiar with the character before seeing him team-up with the others. It might actually improve the J.L. experience.

2020-09-01 10:12:46 +0000 UTCIt's probably better to just watch Justice League because it probably won't win a poll. Then you can move on to the better DC movies

2020-09-01 09:14:06 +0000 UTCI know y'all are fans of Leo, and everyone loves Tom Hanks. Put them in a movie together with Stephen Spielberg at the helm and you get "Catch me if you Can"

2020-09-01 06:52:11 +0000 UTCHonestly think you will enjoy Forrest Gump most of all of those. That said I also think Schindler's List is a film that must be seen by all just as a matter of humanity.

2020-09-01 05:55:04 +0000 UTCI'm gonna be "THAT" guy and say you should skip this Justice League altogether and pick it back up when the Snyder Cut is released. It's the true vision and conclusion to his DC trilogy story.

2020-09-01 05:12:01 +0000 UTCGood selection of movies and I'm glad to see Outbreak at least make the poll. It also has a good cast. I think I might have to just include 5 movies on my weekly movie requests to give them a better chance of making polls. I do think smaller, genre specific polls might work out better, especially when the storm crew has more help with editing and they can watch more stuff each week. Anyway, here are my top 5 movie requests. The Long Kiss Goodnight (Geena Davis, Samuel L. Jackson) Ransom (Mel Gibson, Gary Sinise) Breakdown (Kurt Russell) Dante's Peak(Pierce Bronson, Linda Hamilton) The Sum of All Fears (Ben Affleck, Morgan Freeman)

2020-09-01 04:50:12 +0000 UTCHave you all seen Who Framed Roger Rabbit? If not, I highly suggest putting it on your next poll. It is right up the alley of this channel.

2020-09-01 03:50:26 +0000 UTCit could never win on a poll like this sadly with 20 movies to pick from and sitting next to things like forrest gump it does not even have a chance to win they really do put WAY to many movies on a single polls with only 1 vote allowed.

2020-09-01 03:00:20 +0000 UTCI went on ahead and Liked this Poll on principle, 2 of the 4 Movies I requested, are on this List: "Captain Phillips" & "Phone Booth". However, "Iron Giant", "Scott Pilgrim vs the World" & "Forest Gump" are all good choices, so no matter which one wins, it'll be fine. Just please not "Justice League".

2020-09-01 02:31:01 +0000 UTCEven if you don't get to anytime soon, as long as you put True Romance on the list, I will vote for it. I think more people need to see it.
