MOVIE POLL- VOTE for what Movie we will watch next!
Added 2020-07-27 20:32:35 +0000 UTCHi everyone and welcome back! Thank you for all your support in so many ways! We were having some fraud activity unfortunately in our POLLS, so Patreon and I are investigating everything we can. I did report the fraud and recently banned him from our Patreon. Us working together with you all reporting suspicious activity to me through private message will help me solve any issues faster. Please do NOT talk to trolls at all. You can not reason with them. They love to spread anger and chaos and sometimes appear as a group of people to gang up on someone just to start trouble.
Anywho, positive note! Our Movie POLLS will be on Mondays (yay!) where I will LOCK the current Patrons into the tier while a POLL is active. No one else can join until Thursday after the current POLL ends.. I will go through each new Patron's account to make sure they are a real person before I lock the tier and start a new POLL. This gives me more control to make sure the POLLS are fair to everyone. It's not perfect so please report any troll activity to me privately.
So many of you have been requesting different ways to do POLLS. I will make this one slightly smaller than other POLLS, but I know most of you like big selections. (Whoops, this one turned out kind of big, LOL!) Please lmk below what you think! Only 1 VOTE per POLL this time to also control fraud. Hopefully this can change in the future.. unless you all are good with 1 vote each?
If your request didn't make it in this time, it will in the future! Please feel free to request in the comments below :) Also, please give us a week to watch, edit and upload the winning movie :)
Happy VOTING! Whoops! Star Trek 2: Into Darkness was entered twice, LOL! It was supposed to be a smaller POLL anyway, right? *face-palm* XD

To answer your question about Star Trek 2-Wrath of Khan.. no, you do not need to see the first movie, Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Wrath of Khan and all the subsequent films(as well as all future continuity) completely ignore the events, tone, and look of that first film.
2020-08-02 19:12:54 +0000 UTCCasino Royale for sure!

2020-08-02 04:13:13 +0000 UTCDog Soldiers should have way more votes, it's a great movie.

2020-07-31 00:49:14 +0000 UTCI'm hoping so too! I really want to watch those! Especially Batman 1989! There are just so many requests! We do have this on our radar though! :)

2020-07-31 00:30:37 +0000 UTCi'm hoping one day we'll get reactions to the batman anthology from the 1990s.

2020-07-30 23:25:54 +0000 UTCyeah, im not surprised at all that Django and Indiana are winning. They're extremely popular. This looks legit.
Armchair Wizard
2020-07-30 17:41:41 +0000 UTCFraser, the good news is, Dawn often surprises us by releasing the SECOND runner up as a surprise reaction. She has done that before more than once, especially for movies or shows that come close to winning multiple times. So I don't want to speak for Dawn for her, but i wouldn't be surprised if we saw Indiana Jones reaction before long.
Armchair Wizard
2020-07-30 17:41:15 +0000 UTCWell done everyone it looks like this poll is legit. No unusual spikes in votes or anything yay
2020-07-30 11:41:42 +0000 UTCDoes it?! Lol! I'll end it tmrw! The calendar is twitching sometimes in Patreon tries to push a week out, even if I change it. I'll try to watch out for that more. Thanks for the heads up! :)

2020-07-30 02:24:00 +0000 UTCI second this suggestion
Fraser
2020-07-29 22:33:30 +0000 UTCI’m happy with Django but since it’s been so close so many times, when is Indiana Jones going to get some love?
Fraser
2020-07-29 22:33:05 +0000 UTCDoes anyone notice the poll has 8 days left?! I don't think that was done on purpose.
Justin S.
2020-07-29 19:13:09 +0000 UTCHave been requesting Dunkirk which was directed by Christopher Nolan for a year, really hope it wins someday
Pinhead Larry
2020-07-29 09:41:36 +0000 UTCHere’s a few suggestions: 1) Reservoir Dogs, 2) True Romance, 3) No Country for Old Men, 4) There Will Be Blood, 5) Fargo, 6) The Master, and 7) Casino Royale
2020-07-29 09:36:24 +0000 UTCYou should skip "Star Trek 1"; it's a film only the hardcore fans would enjoy. If you watch "Star Trek 2 : Wrath of Khan" please watch the director's cut.
JMiles
2020-07-29 00:57:19 +0000 UTCLol as one of the few people voting for Kong Skull Island I'd just like to remind you that Godzilla King of the Monsters should be watched AFTER Kong SI! I understand having it up on the poll but seeing as it's unlikely to win anytime super soon I just thought I'd restate the order of watching. I look forward to when y'all watch both movies and hopefully together too! Darn COVID! Stay safe y'all!
Namey Namerson
2020-07-29 00:33:44 +0000 UTCPlease please vote for Kong Skull Island. I just watched it for the 100th time and I still love it. The style and the soundtrack are just great. And Tom Hiddleston is in it.:-)

2020-07-28 21:07:14 +0000 UTCI don't care much for Cast Away, but Contact and Ex Machina are both masterpieces of science fiction.
Opti_Frog
2020-07-28 19:33:50 +0000 UTCI thought I’d request a couple Robert Zemeckis movies. They’re both a little less action-oriented titles. CAST AWAY (2000): The follow-up collab between Zemeckis and Tom Hanks. While Forrest Gump was great, I think it has the disadvantage of getting so much acclaim that it has an awful high bar to live up to. Cast Away is also excellent. And it being less well-known, it might be easier to appreciate. CONTACT (1997): This appeared on a couple past polls, so it probably has the best chance of a surprise reaction. Jodie Foster plays Dr. Ellie Arroway, an astronomer searching for anomalous radio frequencies from outer space. EX MACHINA (2014): Not a Zemeckis movie, but thought I’d keep asking for this until people finally want to strangle me. Indie sci-fi with a small cast. Of the three, this one might not be a good “Mom movie,” as watching some scenes could be awkward to the point of distraction. (Cast Away and Contact are fine for everyone, though.)

2020-07-28 18:55:00 +0000 UTCYou don't need to have watched Star Trek 1 to enjoy The Wrath of Khan, but you should familiarise yourself with the background of Khan Noonien Singh from the 60's Star Trek series. Just reading his bio up to, and strictly no further than, his last appearance in the original Star Trek series.
2020-07-28 16:56:07 +0000 UTCI voted for DIstrict 9 but still hoping for Scott Pilgrim Vs the World -- you guys would absolutely LOVE it!

2020-07-28 16:11:05 +0000 UTCI really want something lighthearted again so please please do Madagascar. With everything going on I think we all could use it right now.
2020-07-28 16:10:16 +0000 UTCI suspect you might be right, that there are a lot of repeats to try to make up for the recent polls being compromised. As an aside, I also suspect that a lot of the requests recently posted were actually from the trolls, or their duplicate dummy accounts. And they weren't sincere requests, but just random movie titles to make the duplicate accounts look more "realistic."

2020-07-28 12:37:30 +0000 UTCThat is a good point, Star trek 2: the wrath of khan is an amazing movie, but they would probably get a lot more out of it if they watched just that one episode of the original series first so they understand the backstory and context
Chris Davies
2020-07-28 11:31:18 +0000 UTCIs it just me or is this poll 99% similar to last week's poll? 🤔 I thought poll nominees were rotated every week? Is this one almost identical because of the issues with trolls last week?
2020-07-28 11:08:21 +0000 UTCI would vote for the Last Samurai, but as you just watched Arrival i thought it would be a good another angle to watch District 9 :)

2020-07-28 06:07:19 +0000 UTCPeter Jackson's King Kong is my favorite of all the Kong films.
Justin S.
2020-07-28 04:45:12 +0000 UTCThe Green Mile is in my top ten favorite movies. I just thought since they reacted to Shawshank Redemption recently that it would be best to wait a bit before requesting it.
Justin S.
2020-07-28 04:40:45 +0000 UTCstill no peter jacksons king kong been asking almost a YEAR! not even been on a single poll

2020-07-28 03:59:54 +0000 UTCif django wasnt on the list i would be voting predator all day!!!!
benjamin freeman
2020-07-28 03:59:05 +0000 UTCI voted for 'Kick Ass' because that's a great comic book comedy. But I guess 'Django Unchained' and the 'Indiana Jones' movies are the most interesting options. I got to say that 'Predator' is a must watch. If you're going to watch the 'Star Trek' movies I recommend you to see the old ones first starting with 'Wrath of Khan'
Jose 'Nihilus Outis' Morales
2020-07-28 03:21:03 +0000 UTCIs there like, anything to react to in that movie?
2020-07-28 02:33:31 +0000 UTCThey are all good picks again and I have no idea how to do the order :D Really it's up to you!
Lee Salvemini
2020-07-28 01:58:15 +0000 UTCI've seen every single one of your suggestions except Cliffhanger. haha
Rafael Benedicto
2020-07-28 01:35:22 +0000 UTCVoted for Raiders/Indy this time, since I think if my memory's correct it would have won last time if not for the voting fraud. Time for that movie to shine here in all it's glory! I think I'm happy with either way of voting. Which ever way is best to make it easier to pick a winner and/or prevent the fraud from happening.
YodatheHobbit
2020-07-28 01:29:18 +0000 UTCYou can't objectively judge a movie as "forgettable" based on your own personal ideology. People in this community come from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, and are as diverse as the kinds of movies they prefer to watch. For one person a movie like Pearl Harbor may not hold much water, but for others they derive a lot of meaning from it. And it's quite generous for the Akima crew to be so open accommodating to our suggestions. So if you want your requests to be heard, be more polite and considerate of other people's reasons for why they prefer the movies they prefer.
Rafael Benedicto
2020-07-28 01:26:01 +0000 UTCLots of good selections. I voted for Batman 1989 this time. Here are my ten weekly movie recommendations with some new ones: Ransom (1996) The Sum of All Fears (2002) Panic Room (2002) Outbreak (1995) Cliffhanger (1993) Con Air (1997) Meet Joe Black (1998) Dante's Peak (1997) Pleasantville (1998) Breakdown (1997)

2020-07-28 00:49:44 +0000 UTCVoted for The Last Samurai. I hope you'll have The Green Mile on the next poll!
Rafael Benedicto
2020-07-28 00:47:51 +0000 UTCI would've Voted for "Troy", except it's not the Director's Cut, so it won't be as good. It may be too much [maybe Dawn & Kim could handle it]; if anyone has ever seen that Version, you know what I'm talking about. So, as a result, it was out of "Kick-Ass" & "District 9" - I chose the latter. Now, having said all this, I can't believe we are so adamant on "Django Unchained" & "Indiana Jones". Look, I like Quentin Tarantino and Steven Spielberg as much as the next person, but seriously, those Movies. Well, enjoy anyway, I guess.
Darius.
2020-07-28 00:43:23 +0000 UTCParasite may not get a lot of votes. But it is absolutely the best film on here by a mile. Very deserved Oscar wins.

2020-07-28 00:43:13 +0000 UTCI wonder how well Legends of The Fall holds up today. Also surprised i havent seen any mention of Curious Case of Benjamin Button here

2020-07-27 23:42:42 +0000 UTCI highly request La La Land , Sicario , Bridge Of Spies , Whiplash , Gravity , Captain Phillips , Apollo 13 , Rush , Crimson Tide , Dunkirk , Argo , and A Beautiful Mind for you to react to. Thanks and keep up the good work.

2020-07-27 23:31:19 +0000 UTCYou won't need to watch Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) for Wrath of Khan. Wrath of Khan, Search for Spock and Voyage Home is its own little trilogy. I do recommend you watch Wrath of Kkan before Into Darkness (2013), a lot of callbacks and references.

2020-07-27 22:02:35 +0000 UTCFor 'Star Trek 2: the Wrath of Khan', you don't have to have seen Star Trek 1. However, if you haven't seen a specific episode of the Original Star Trek series('Space Seed') then you will not understand a large amount of it, nor will you know a lot of the characters, or understand the full weight of the events that take place.

2020-07-27 21:57:34 +0000 UTCAir Force One came super close last time, so I really hope it can be featured on the next poll.

2020-07-27 21:05:35 +0000 UTCSo sorry to hear about trolls! But we can ignore them into submission 😀 Please watch the Maze Runner Trilogy, you will all really enjoy watching them together!
2020-07-27 21:02:30 +0000 UTCAgreed... Other than the refitted ship, nothing from the first movie comes to play in the Wrath of Khan. Might be worth while watching the Original series Episode 'Space Seed' (S1.E22) E23 on Netflix because they have the included the original pilot.
