Perception system, charisma, limits and more. [Blood legacies]

Runes : Using items with runes can make you tire more quickly, and make you more physically vulnerable, in the sense that your powers become unstable. Elementals were not born to use runes on their bodies, and cannot use spells, and doing so, even through items, can have some consequences.
Norton's sword is no exception. There are runes embedded in it, although the sword was made by an elemental and has elemental ice, the sword still has runes. The combination of this can be useful, but it can still cause a certain instability in the elementals as much as it can be useful. The elemental itself can get tired from overusing it with its gifts, but it can still be used as a normal sword, as long as the elemental doesn't overuse its gifts while carrying it.
There are two reasons for this.
1: The sword can make its elemental power (in the case of Norton's sword, it's ice) even stronger, making it a formidable weapon in combat.
2: The runes. Even though they are not on the elemental's skin, their magic can be harmful to the elemental. This contributes to their unusual fatigue when used in conjunction with their elemental gifts.
The same (albeit to a lesser extent) applies to the sword that Eleazar gave to the mc, although it's a sword that doesn't have as many runes or as much power as the sword of the mc's lineage. This will be explored and explained in the demo itself when we get to moments when there will be combat, or close to combat, with such a weapon.
Spells: Elementals don't use spells. They cannot say them or use them through bewitched objects. This can lead to the immediate death of elementals, or severe physical consequences, depending on the spell as well, or the bewitched item. That's why elementals can't use magic like wizards, nor can wizards use elemental power like elementals do.
[Perception, charisma and manipulation system](Blood legacies)
Charisma: Pleasant reputation, people saw you as a sympathetic person.
It can be used for subtle manipulation, and also to reveal enemies.
Intimidation: Reputation in which people fear you, see you as intimidating.
They will be more suspicious, but it will also be useful for making some obey and fear you, perhaps even revealing enemies or hiding from you.
However, Charisma and Reputation won't block choices, but it will make character reactions, MC lines and even scenes change slightly.
Perception: Depending on your choices, your perception increases, which makes you perceive more subtle things [obviously] (texts, choices and so on), unlocking scenes that otherwise wouldn't be shown, and even more options and dialogues. Remember that perception increases as YOU CHOOSE. There will be no blocking of perception options.
Example: Let's say you notice something in the middle of a scene, and you don't have many points in perception, you can still choose some choices that will make you reveal an enemy, find something or something else, even noticing something involving the ro's.
However, if you have greater perception, you can change the scene, both scenes and choices can be altered accordingly. With the mc (you) aware of something but having choices that pretend not to notice, or choices that make things clearer. Like someone who realizes there's poison in a certain chalice, and being aware of it, the flavor text changes, and so do the choices.
There's a small glimpse of this in the demo, but there aren't yet any different choices and scenes depending on it. However, you have a greater context and understanding of the situation.
And manipulation will still be present in the if. For newer readers who haven't read the old demo. There were ways of making a character, whether an enemy or not, do what you wanted, reveal themselves and so on, without the need for violence, just by manipulating through choices. Some readers even realized this only after others had done it, and even asked what choices can lead to this. (Chapter 3 of Blood Legacies from the old demo)
Something I'll bring up and explain later is what we might call the link between elementals, wizards, shapeshifters and mages. This, specifically, will be brought up more with Nix.
