Curiosities/Trivia about "New Era," ,My Abandoned WIP, and an Idea for a Completely New Route

The main inspiration for the vampires in "New Era" came from the vampires in "The Vampire Diaries" (even though I don't like Elena, I found the origins and nature of the vampires very cool). So much so that the MC ended up having a special gift that was common for the vampires in TVD: hypnosis. But I also liked the ideas involving the gifts that the vampires in "Twilight" had. I found this concept interesting and applied it here.

However, my favorite vampire book/universe is the one written by Anne Rice. I simply loved her books and writing style, spending hours reading and listening to her audiobooks.

Initially, the idea for "New Era" was to set it in the medieval era, and the initial title was "Beyond the Forest" or "Beyond Blood and Bones" (I know, the title isn't very creative, but it was the initial title) with the MC being an older vampire who was ordered to go to a cabin to investigate and ended up finding signs of werewolf attacks, with the bodies of dead hunters. Then a hunter would appear, who would be one of the ROs.

The MC could confront them or hide, as well as flirt options. I literally still have the scenes written to this day, but at that time, I didn't know much about coding and translating well was complicated.

Besides not knowing how to proceed with the idea (although I had some ideas involving this abandoned WIP, and I thought about improving it and one day bringing it to you, as I thought about adding a route just for an older vampire MC in "New Era," with differences, since in this route the young MC wouldn't exist, and things and characters like Cassie, Taylor, Alice [who would be an RO, and there would be a male and wizard RO in this route instead of Cassie and Taylor], and others would have their lives slightly altered. Also, the first or second chapter would be set in the medieval or Victorian era, not in the modern era.

It's a possible route idea that I'm considering. Whether it's a good idea or not, I'm still seeing, but I have scene ideas involving this. Maybe later I'll bring a small part of the beginning for you to test and tell me what you think, or maybe I'll bring this idea as a separate game from "New Era," also with just two ROs, these being Alice and a male wizard RO. Still thinking about it, and yes, I know it might be too much and not a good idea to do this now because of the two WIPs, but it's an idea I'm considering For later, like, much later. After advancing in chapters 5 and 4 for Blood Legacies and New Era. If you find it interesting, after bringing the other things from the other WIPs, I'll bring a demo for you to test, not for now, but after some time, it's possible.

Continuing with "Beyond the Forest/Beyond Blood and Bones," I set the idea aside and focused on "Blood Legacies." Although the WIP was still available on my dashboard at that time, I deleted it and then saved what I wrote in Google Docs. You can check out below what I wrote and the coding. Remember, it's unfinished, and I even reused the cabin idea in the old "Blood Legacies" demo.

Remember, this was written a long time ago, like two years ago, when I was still writing the old "Blood Legacies" demo. The scenes are a bit disjointed, it may be a bit confusing, but as I said, I didn't finish them.

Ps: I translated with a new translator.

You could hear the sound of your feet scraping on the wood, loud amid the noises of the forest nearby. The boards creaked, the shackles sang, the bodies reeked. All this as the sun rose through the window of the wooden cabin.

Blood, lots of blood. all spread on the wood. The blood, mixed with flesh, wetting your dark boots, leaving a disgusting squelching sound with each step.

It had to be you here, right? I mean, just send the youngest vampire to a place full of blood and flesh, what could go wrong besides driving you insane and wanting to kill everyone in the village of Norton? No, no problem beyond the hunter's guild and the king of Norton wanting your head.

The leader of your clan apparently trusts you enough to know that you will control yourself, or maybe it's a test, you don't doubt that it is. You have to endure all the smell of blood, alone in a hunter's cabin full of bodies.

You have to obey, even if you disagree with certain decisions. The clan leader, the person who turned you, guarantees to put everyone in line or to hunt down those who disobey, you made an oath and the only way for you to leave your clan alive is if the leader expels you or sets you free, but it's not all bad to be part of a clan. Your clan offers protection and help in controlling murderous instincts, or in case you make a mess, they help clean up. It is very helpful in case of problems with other supernatural beings or groups like the hunters, who simply hate your kind.

As you walked over what was left of the shack's occupants, you think about what could have caused such a brutal and horrible attack.

A werewolf attack? Wendigo? No, it's definitely a werewolf. The bodies stank but didn't disguise their forest smell. If it were a Wendigo, it would have a putrid smell too strong to bear going through these remains.

You stop when you find a small leather collar on the floor, dirty with blood and broken. You kneel and despite the instinct to drink when you see and smell the blood, you restrain yourself and take a closer look at the collar, gently running a finger over it, making the dirt vanish, revealing a drawing of a blue moon. Symbol of the Northern pack.

One of the werewolves probably dropped it during the attack. They will come back to get it at some point, without a doubt.

#take the collar
You picked up the collar from the ground, still stained with blood, but you didn't care. You put it in the pocket of your pants. It's not very valuable, not to you.

But without a doubt, the werewolf who lost it will come looking for it, after all, the collars serve the purpose of assisting in their transformation.

The collar could be useful. If you want to capture one and use it as a hostage at some point, or kill the said werewolf, it would be one less enemy to worry about.
*set yes true
#leave it there
You left it there. It would probably only attract problems and unwanted attention from a werewolf or their pack.
*set not true

You sigh and look around among the bodies.

Fools. They should have thought three times before attacking a werewolf pack.

They must have thought they could handle it with just seven members. What bad luck that the pack had over thirty. One of the largest wolf packs in the Kingdom of Elkar. But hunters can be quite arrogant, enough to not fully investigate before deciding to attack a supernatural being.

You freeze when you hear a familiar sound of footsteps running through the forest behind you, leaves crunching and the pleasant smell of a human.

You quickly stand up, look around until you see a closet and a door behind it. Hunters love secret entrances. In a gust of wind, you are already at the entrance and pulling the wardrobe in front of you. Covering yourself but there was a small glass bottle in front, allowing you to see who has just arrived.

The person enters inside with a panting breath, stumbling over the mutilated flesh and looking around and seeming to hold their breath when seeing the carnage. It was a young...

${mw} Young person wearing dark brown pants and hood, dark boots and slightly bronzed skin, short blonde hair, green and clear eyes. There was a dagger on his belt and you didn't doubt for a moment that there were even more hidden daggers in their clothing. However, ${pronoun} was still attractive. Too bad ${pronoun} is a hunter.

"No, no…" ${pronoun} whispers and looks around until ${pronoun} spots a body torn in half and rushes to it, crouching amidst the blood and soiling her tunic with it. Her hands are raised above the body and trembling, her heart beating fast, very fast. "Zach…." ${pronoun} whispers. It seemed like ${pronoun} was crying, as you heard something drip from her face down to the body. Tears?

You felt like you were intruding on a very personal moment there. But it didn't matter, you needed to get out. It wouldn't be long before ${pronoun} started looking. And as much as it would be interesting to attack the hunter, it's a waste of time and you could risk dying if the hunter is more skilled than you and has tricks up his sleeve. Despite being a vampire, hunters are not considered dangerous or annoying for no reason.

You took calm steps back, silently, and turned to the dark hallway behind you. Your eyes seeing every detail of the place as if it were day, and then you began to walk, but stopped when you were met with an invisible barrier, throwing you back and breaking your back against the wardrobe, revealing your hiding place to the hunter.

You groaned in pain as you felt wood splinters in your back and a bit of panic, if a sliver infiltrates your heart, it would be your end. You turn to get up but before you could do anything, you are pushed to the ground with force when a body falls over you and this body is the hunter.

${pronoun} presses a dagger against your throat, a movement of his wrist would cut your throat. It wouldn't kill you, as it's obviously silver, but it would still be extremely uncomfortable and painful.

"Who are you?" Demanded the hunter. His body was warm against yours, basically in your lap, and his face was close enough for you to feel his breath, which didn't help your control at all. His scent was strong too, and quite attractive, the kind that you could spend hours smelling without getting tired. Refreshing, interesting, good.

You can only imagine how ${pronoun1} blood tastes. The members of your clan would certainly kill each other just to taste it.

#"I'm ${name}, nice to meet you, you know?"
"Are you going to tell me what you're doing here, ${name}?" ${pronoun} asks.

"Maybe if you get off of me."

The hunter narrows his eyes and puts a knee on your rib. The dagger pressed even harder against your neck. "I don't think so."

"I didn't kill these people, if that's what you want to know." You say.

"You're a vampire."

"That's a little presumptuous, don't you think?" You say, jaw clenched as the hunter ties ropes around you, one eyebrow raised.

"I can recognize magical items from afar, and this collar clearly has a solar protection enchantment." Says the hunter. Hm… interesting.

"And how do you know that? Hunters aren't that perceptive."

"That's for me to know, and for you to stay quiet." ${pronoun} smiles before tying a rope around your wrists and you let out a scream of pain as you feel the burning caused by hibiscus and then grit your teeth, your fangs elongating as you look at the hunter with fury in your eyes. Feeling your veins red beneath your eyes, which probably glowed in red and white.

"It's confirmed." ${pronoun} smiled smugly and you hissed with anger.

${pronoun} moves quickly and tries to stab you with a dagger but you hold ${pronoun1} wrist and keep it inches away from your heart. You feel ${pronoun} trying with all his strength to stab you with the dagger but you are literally ten times stronger than any human and holding ${pronoun1} wrist is no problem for you.

# You smile. "Not strong enough, huh?"
"You won't... won't... escape..." ${pronoun} grits his teeth as he speaks. His hands turned white from tension.

You were almost amused.

#"If you wanted to stay on top of me so badly, you just had to ask. You know."
You wink, a playful smile on your lips. His face turned as red as a tomato, his eyes widening with your words. "I... I didn't..."

"Wow, you were even speechless. I'm flattered." You said, the last sentence being whispered. You heard his heartbeat speeding up and you couldn't help the wide smile that adorned your lips.

#Seeing his face so close to yours, you felt your eyes drift to his lips, you couldn't resist speaking. "You know, you have beautiful lips."

The hunter falters in the grip of the dagger and blinks, bewildered, his face red and eyes wide. "What?"

"You have beautiful lips." You repeat slowly, your face moving slightly closer to the hunter's face and smiling broadly as you hear his heart accelerate.

#"Good reflexes." You compliment.

The hunter seems surprised by the compliment and blushes. "Uh... thank you, I guess," said the hunter, before shaking his head. "Shut up." ${pronoun} looks at you with clear irritation.

You chuckled lightly. "I was just telling the truth."

${pronoun} pulled you back and onto your knees before he sent a needle into your neck.

You felt all your veins and blood burning like fire inside your body, as if you were on fire. Your body tensed, the burning seeping into your skull, making you shiver and dizzy, tears streaming from your eyes uncontrollably. Your whole body burning from the inside. You screamed in pain before the burning reached your heart and you passed out.

You attacked, at super speed and with surprising agility you pinned ${pronoun} to the wall with one hand.

Your lips curved into a smile upon hearing ${pronoun1} heart beat rapidly against his chest. ${Pronoun1} eyes widened upon seeing you, ${pronoun1} hands gripping yours in a futile attempt to free himself.

"Hi." You say, still smiling. Your face hovering over ${pronoun1}.

The hunter seemed scared for a moment before grabbing a dagger from his tunic and trying to hit you, but you simply held the dagger in ${pronoun1} hand while holding his throat with the other. ${Pronoun1} hand was warm against yours, a comforting sensation.

"You really thought this would work?" You ask, raising an eyebrow.

You didn't expect ${pronoun} to smile.

"No." The moment those words left ${pronoun1} mouth, you felt an electric shock throughout your body and dropped to your knees, releasing the hunter's neck and your teeth clenched in pain, and you even ended up biting your tongue, the taste of iron in your mouth before the shock stopped and you fell to the ground with a thud. "I need answers. And you may have them." The hunter's steps approach you.

#"It wasn't me, just to make it clear."

"It wasn't me, just to make it clear." You say but it doesn't seem to make a difference as ${pronoun} widens his eyes and grabs two silver daggers, throwing one at you but you predicted the move and caught the dagger, holding it with two fingers before it reached your heart.

You look at the dagger and then at the hunter. "You didn't think that would work, did you?" You hold the dagger by the handle with your other hand.

The hunter sneered. "I don't need to kill you." The moment those words left his mouth, you felt an electric shock throughout your body, and fell to your knees, teeth clenched in pain, even biting your tongue, the taste of iron in your mouth before the shock stopped, and you slammed to the ground, face down. "I need answers. And you can provide them." The hunter's steps approach you.

Your limbs were limp and sore; you struggled to breathe. "What... what was that?" You manage to speak as your eyes burned. The hunter's steps stop near you, and you see him kneel beside you, grabbing a dagger in his hand.

"That was magic," he replied.

"Impossible... mages are not part of the hunter's guild, much less working with them to make weapons." You practically grit your teeth in response, already feeling your limbs starting to respond.

"They are now." The hunter’s heart sped up slightly, a small acceleration that might have been imperceptible to novice vampires, but you weren't a novice. You were young, but not that young. He's either lying or not telling you everything.

*fake_choice

#Attack and tell him he's lying.

You try to stand up, but your limbs, despite recovering, seem like all your strength has left them. It was painful just to try, strong cramps all over your body. What kind of dagger was this? You never imagined that...

"Why are you lying?" you manage to ask, hands squeezing into fists.

The hunter furrowed his brow. "I... I'm not lying!"

"You're a terrible liar, hunter." You smiled. Could he have stolen the dagger from a mage? It's possible.

#"I didn't kill those men."

"Why should I believe you?" The hunter asks, looking at you with narrowed eyes.

"Why would I lie about it knowing that you wouldn't release me even if it was true? You hunt my kind regardless of whether we claim to be innocent or not."

"You hurt people regardless of whether they are innocent or not," retorts the hunter.

Fair point. You fall silent.

#"I will end you."

Your threat only made the hunter narrow his eyes. "We'll see about that, vampire." He was mocking you.

#"Free me, and I won't kill you."

You said you wouldn't kill him, not that you wouldn't hurt him.

The hunter scoffed. "Yeah, I don't think so."

"I didn't do anything!"

"I don't believe you," replied the hunter with narrowed eyes.

The hunter approached you, and you could only watch as he took a needle with a red liquid, hibiscus, and plunged it into your neck.

You felt all your veins and blood burn like fire within your body, as if you were on fire. You woke up to feel tied up, literally. There was a rope around you, and you let out a hiss of pain as you tried to move, the rope touching your wrists and neck burning, feeling like hot iron. You clenched your jaw, your canines lengthening, and you heard a snort ahead.

The hunter was sitting ahead, a fire between you as it darkened. "Don't waste your time. The rope is wet with hibiscus. It will only hurt you if you try to escape." You could see the stars already. You furrowed your brow. How long had passed?

"Don't worry. You will be taken for judgment," he spoke, his green eyes on you.

You scoff. "Judgment?" you almost laughed.

"As far as I know, judgment is only to decide if a sentence is given or not; you don't do that, you kill. That's it."

The hunter seemed indignant. "That's not true."

"Those who say that are naive or fools," you replied.

"We're not like that; we kill those who kill us, that's it." Now he stood up and walked over to you. You felt his scent reach you, the intoxicating perfume of his skin making you tense for a moment. Your thoughts involuntarily turned to his blood, what it would be like to taste him...

You swallowed hard.

You stared at him, holding your breath to not smell him. "Indeed, you are pure naivety," you said, lifting your gaze to the hunter's green eyes. "Or a good liar."

The hunter furrowed his brow. "I don't even know why I'm having this discussion with you. You're a killer."

You...

*fake_choice

#"I didn't kill your friends!" You practically shout.

The hunter seems surprised by the outburst and takes a step back. "It... it doesn't matter if it's true or not. You will still be taken for judgment," he responds.

*set Nia/Noah+1

#You falter. You never killed on purpose; you're a vampire, but you've fought against your instincts. You didn't like hurting people.

You gaze at the ground, shame washing over you. You never wanted to hurt anyone, but accidents happen. A young vampire is a vampire without control, if there isn't someone to help contain your instincts, you're basically a killing machine. A predator seeking prey. A bloodthirsty monster without mercy.

The hunter was right to call you a murderer because you've done terrible things that you regret, but you never meant to do them on purpose.

You felt the hunter's eyes on you, but you kept your gaze down.

"I..." their voice sounded, and you briefly looked up to see the hunter's face, forehead creased but there was no malice in that look; it almost seemed... regretful. You waited for them to speak, but instead, they swallowed hard and moved away, going back to their place to sit on the ground and avoiding looking at you.

*set roname+2

#"So what?" You've killed before; it was your instinct; you're a vampire.

"You don't even care?" The hunter frowned, clearly displeased, but then shook their head. Their eyes closed briefly before shifting to the forest nearby. "Of course not."
