Classic Who "Survival" Parts 1&2 Full Reaction!

Comments

"So what's so terrible about Perivale?", "Nothing ever happens here.", The Doctor and Ace, "Survival" Nice choice of outfit for the end of your journey. The writer of this story is Rona Munro. She later wrote the 12th Doctor/Bill story "The Eaters of Light" and so is the only writer to write for both Classic and New Who. "Have you ever heard of survival of the fittest, son, eh? Have you ever heard of that? Life's not a game, son. I mean, I'm teaching you the art of survival.", Paterson, "Survival" Episode title detected. Paterson is played by Julian Holloway who was in a whole pile of the "Carry On ..." films. BTW: He also did some voice work for "The Clone Wars" series. "I wouldn't be that age again if you paid me, would you?", "I can't remember. It's too long ago.", Paterson and the Doctor, "Survival" What's the Doctor's age now? 953 as of "Time and the Rani" - but who knows. "And the other bloke turns to him and says, what are you doing? You can't outrun a lion. The bloke turns to him and says, I don't have to outrun the lion.", Len talking to Harvey, "Survival" The old "outrunning the bear" joke is not worth commenting on - but the actors are. They are the comedy duo "Hale and Pace". Len is played by Gareth Hale - but apparently he and Norman Pace switched roles at the last minute just before recording. "One finger can be a deadly weapon.", The Doctor, "Survival" "Venusian karate" as seen in "Inferno" etc. "Go on, go away! Go on! Shoo! Dog, go away!", The Doctor, "Survival" That's Pepsi (JNT's dog) again! "Why, Doctor. What an unexpected pleasure.", The Master, "Survival" The Master has a story with the 7th Doctor - it makes sense. BTW: Here's a fun fact, (which I've delayed mentioning until this story). Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred and Anthony Ainley all share the same birthday. "Want water. It will make me well very fast.", Karra, "Survival" It was sweltering hot during the recording days - Sophie Aldred suffered from dehydration. And pity the poor Cheetah people. Karra, here, is played by Lisa Bowerman. After the Classic Who run, she was involved in the audio dramas - best known for playing the archaeologist Professor Bernice Summerfield An archaeologist companion of the Doctor? - that's interesting. "But what happens when the next lion turns up?", The Doctor, "Survival"
