The trailer for Fallout Season 2 just hit, and without spoilers I'll just say there are some really nutty pieces of casting that are either going to be amazing or terrible. And from all I've been thinking about who could be the next Doctor, I'm now pretty all in on Ella Purnell once this show is over and she has more free time. She's already had an incredible variety of roles for her age and can clearly bring whatever they want.

Wouldn’t say no to Janet returning to tie off the whole Mara arc, and it would tie into the whole Pantheon of Discord arc that they’ve been having. Fair that you’re not too optimistic about getting to see it in the show, though we could have it in novels or comic form. Though there would be the worry of better cgi with the snake. I doubt Jess would be happy about that part.

You can tell which Doctors are one’s Doctors when one can instantly recognize the opening as you did here. Lord that sets the mood off early. Lovely appearance from Tegan. Figured you’d have some kitchen commentary. It looks a little too open concept for my tastes, but it was nice. There are no words to describe the emotions felt seeing you see Nyssa again. Hoo boy, a man’s not prepared for that one. Shame about the idea of the fun road trip getting undermined by the Mara. I should have known that you would clock the Mara appearing again. You speak true that snake notwithstanding, it is one of the creepier Who stories. Anticipated your words about the snake revisiting business. Mad respect to Tegan for rejecting the proverbial apple from Eden. Leads to the big snake that, yeah, looked fake as all hell. The movement still looked a bit too real, so there was concern. I too was a mite gobsmacked over how it looked like it was going to end. Does make for rather potent emotional whiplash with the sneak peeks of the dvd/blu-ray goodies. All reactions to that were still great. High praise your words were about Turlough by the way. We bring it all back around to the last scene with Tegan, great reactions there. Love the words afterward about the love for Five’s era. Moment of silence for Adric as just even the brief mention gets me good. All in all, a lovely reaction to keep the Whoniversary celebrations going. Thank you for the lovely reaction, Jess.

(I'll show myself out now) But that really is how I went into this one, with the return of Nyssa and the Mara (seeing as you'd already met present day Tegan in Power of the Doctor) pretty much cancelling each other out for what I wanted to see you go through. And I'm a bit fascinated at the thought process that resulted in this ad, where they decided something that should be all about creating joyous excitement about a new box set would center around something as dark and depressing as confirming the decades-long fan theory that Tegan is forever stuck with the Mara in her head. I guess there's a chance that Janet could come back on the show to give closure to it, but since she was already coming out of a long retirement to do the appearance we got, I wouldn't count on it.
