Classic Who "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy" Parts 3&4 Full Reaction!

A decent - and sceptical - script editor is what RTD needed to steer him on a course that was less rocky. Fang Rock's lighthouse could have done better!

Word is now coming in that RTD might be off the show again after the 2026 special, and honestly, good. He's done some very good things since he came back, but if he really has so little interest in building stories to a decent payoff as seems clear, he shouldn't be here. And we even get the satisfaction of him pulling a Michael Piller and getting stuck having to deal with his own mess rather than peaceing out and leaving some other poor schmuck to decide what to do with Billie. This is your dishwashing liquid, you soak in it. Though I definitely don't envy the BBC people who now have to look for another show runner, since most people with any experience in the business are probably going to respond to a request with "You want me to captain the Titanic, too?"

"This is the most exciting day of my life. My dream come true.", Whizz Kid, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy" Congratulations on your Who anniversary. "Flowerchild and, and Peacepipe, and Juniperberry, and, and Deadbeat.", Bellboy, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy" Another continuity error (in addition to Ace's timey-wimey rucksack) caused by the switch of broadcast order with "Silver Nemesis" was that Ace had Flowerchild's brooch on her jacket in "Silver Nemesis" - one story too early. "Enough? I've hardly started. I have fought the Gods of Ragnarok all through time.", The Doctor, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy" There have been persistent theories that such-and-such a story or this-or-that story-arc protagonist in New Who could be the returning Gods of Ragnarok. Maybe ... Someday. "Although I never got to see the early days, I know it's not as good as it used to be but I'm still terribly interested.", Whizzkid, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy" Whizz Kid is a parody of Doctor Who fans - and his comment that the Psychic Circus is not what it used to be - well, that's was a common refrain among fans at the time, many of whom had never seen the really old episodes. Does anyone remember the time when the then lost "The Tomb of the Cybermen" was thought to be the apex of Classic Who - mainly because no one could see it (before it was returned in 1992.) To be honest, I think the program peaked in 1965 with "The Myth Makers". Prove me wrong - locate the missing four episodes and show me! "But how did life begin? Was it with a chicken or was it with ...", The Doctor, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy" We have a credit for "Magic Consultant" on this show - and sorry about the snake! And taking about credits, this is the first appearance of Mark Ayres as Incidental Music composer. He does a few more Classic Whos but I think his biggest impact was as a custodian of the Radiophonic Workshop Classic Who audio recordings and part of the Restoration Team in getting the audio of older Classic episodes back to broadcast quality. "It's what I've always said. No consideration for those of us that live here.", Stallslady, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy" That's a famous explosion - Sylvester was told it wouldn't be too large ... but the pyro guys used a little bit too much stuff. The very brave Sylvester just kept walking inspite of it singeing his costume - they couldn't do another take. "You're absolutely right. Clowns can be creepy.", The Doctor, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy"
