So an particular fact about the tent interiors is it was a hasty replacement for studio sets, set up in the car park because asbestos had been found in the main building and they couldn't do most of the shooting there. Call it providence but the solution worked out so much better; the outdoor sandpit, the tent and circus interiors and the gods' domain all feel not just like three different environments but three different planes of existence, which matches the story incredibly well and there's nothing else quite like it.

I recall being quite obsessed with this story when I first saw it in terms of the vibe I got and still get from watching it. It's hard to describe, like a kind of airy eeriness if that makes any kind of sense. The mystery of what occurred kept me gripped throughout & something I'd often thought about in terms of how much I'd like to see what occurred when they initially ended up on that planet. I think to some extent they had their minds controlled after what happened with Kingpin but I also feel it was the need to survive and keep pulling the acts in which made them really embrace what befell them. Really good story & one which has stuck with me. I totally forgot about the s---- bit, for some reason I thought he pulled a chicken out of that silver bowl lol! See you next time!
