Campy and marvelous all at once is a fair description for this story for your ten-year Whoniversary upload, before the day itself on the fifteenth of November. Easy day to remember. I would have expected this show to be featured at this great restaurant at the end of the universe, but alas. It remains lovely seeing your reactions to Seven and Ace’s dynamic. As you say, nice to see Ace out of her comfort zone with something that spooks her a bit. I remember that you’ve mentioned that your brother hates clowns, as well as mascots, as I recall. Much though you and I may not share the fear these clowns were just a mite creepy, yes. See you say about you and your brother never really going to too many places where clowns would be. Fairly certain that was the case for my brother and I, and neither of us, same as you, are afraid of clowns. Going to the circus, well, I think I went once. If it was more than once, I don’t recall. Only real time that I remember was when I was about eight, maybe nine. I’m not sure on that one. Long time ago, for sure. Reasonably fun. You say you watched It the other day, makes me ask, “Which one?” The miniseries has been on the tv a fair bit lately, so I’ve been putting it on as well. Speaking of that, plenty of friends my age have the permanent trauma of the fear of clowns that comes from seeing It when they were little. Never actually saw It myself until I was seventeen, read the book shortly after. Of course, even if I had seen It at a young age, love for Tim Curry is too great, and I probably would have lived for Pennywise as a kid. I’m with Ace on not wanting to eat what they were given. I’d probably throw up halfway through. Was sweet seeing Ace in the scarf. Same here on living for the lady who was not for all the riff raff and the weirdos. You speak true about Seven being a hard man to predict, and here it feels nicely in between. Great how you clocked the captain. Man had the nefarious face. Quite a kick was had over your comments on the tent. Some sort of Mary Poppins tent, it seems. The set up of what you had to do to survive, made me say, “So, this is, what, Squid Game by way of Barnum?” I’m a complete wiseass when there was the argument about order of who would perform, namely, I quipped, “No, sorry Doctor, Who’s on first.” Just wonderful to see you having such a great reacction for the youtube upload for the Whoniversary. Thank you for the reaction, and looking forward to the concluding half of the reaction to the story. Should be fun, Jess.

"There are lots of surprises for the family at the Greatest Show in the Galaxy! So many strange surprises, I'm prepared to bet, whatever you've seen before, you ain't seen nothing yet.", Ringmaster, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy"
This is an odd story - although the rap is fun. I'm not sure whether it's deep - or just, as you said, bizarre. There's certainly a lot of weird characters.
And thank goodness for cut & paste - this has the longest title in Classic Who history (unless you call "The Massacre" by the full title of "The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve").
"You know, this tent seems quite spacious.", sesskasays, Reaction to "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy"
It was planned to have the usual location filming followed by the studio recording. However, due to asbestos contamination, the studio sessions were cancelled. Could this have been another "Shada"? But, fortunately, it was possible to pick up the studio sessions by filming inside a tent they set up in a carpark. So, it means that many of the interior "tent" sets were actually recorded in a big, er, spacious, tent.
"Yeah, what about my rucksack, Professor? What did you do with it?", Ace, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy"
Um, that's the rucksack with Nitro-9 that Ace threw into the Cyber-ship in "Silver Nemesis" - a continuity error. This is explained because they switched the order of the final two episodes to allow "Silver Nemesis" to be broadcast on the day of the Who anniversary. So, a few continuity issues slipped in.
"Things don't just vanish.", Ace, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy"
At which point one of his juggling balls does just that. BTW: that clip of 7 juggling was used in the video promo for the Classic Who 40th anniversary DVDs.
Incidentally, the writer and director just assumed that Sylvester McCoy could juggle due to his physical comedy background - he couldn't.
I like the callback to 4's scarf and that we see Mel's outfit from "Time and the Rani".
"They'll catch us, I know it. They'll drag us back to the circus.", Bellboy, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy"
Bellboy is played by Christopher Guard - we saw his brother playing Olvir in "Terminus" - "We're on a leper ship! We're all going to die!"
"And I am Captain Cook, the eminent intergalactic explorer. You happen to have heard of me, old boy?", The Captain, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy"
The Captain is played by the prolific, T. P. McKenna. Prolific? - 163 IMDB credits!
"Is there no end to you wierdos?", Stallslady, "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy"
