Daryl Dixon 3x03 Full Reaction!

Daryl Dixon 3x03 Full Reaction!

Camera set-up is looking great. Likewise, lovely new sort of dark rosé shade on the nails. Looks nice. Now to the episode. Surprisingly short and sweet episode this week. As I had a shit weekend, I found I appreciated that. Truly things were going too well. To the surprise of no one, you and Carol aren’t letting things go, Roberto will join you on that. As the fellow Slytherin as you two ladies are, I get it. You’re yelling at Daryl more harshly than I was. Because we both, you and I, get it. He’s been burned too badly, Isabelle’s death especially weighs too heavily on his heart and soul, love how you spare a word or two for her, and he can’t risk the further pain. As you spoke, finding love like he did is something he didn’t think possible. I doubt it’s possible for me. For that reason, I left the chiding to you as we do both know that getting involved, it is unavoidable. It is his destiny. And he too will not let shit go. They’re pulled into shit regardless as of course Torres notices the disappearance of his men. Quite the bullshit he spun about his men at the river, that Federico clearly notices, but wisely chose not to saying anything. And now Torres is on the hunt. Man’s a complete dick about the cognac, though amusingly, Federico makes the slight face after drinking it as well, indicating that Torres wasn’t even strictly speaking wrong about it, though as you note, it’s definitely a flexing of power. Still think that given the conditions of the world, can anyone really afford to be picky about quality of booze? I’d just be happy to still have it. And I like how Federico quickly deduces what likely happened. He is a smart man, and the math is simple. Two and two does not equal five as you say, nice Orwell reference, by the way. Good bonding time that Daryl and Roberto have, complete with the sassy captain. We both had the reaction to the Rubik’s cube. Daryl having a good Chuck Connors time with the rifle, and his moves with the anchor was fantastic. Good on Roberto for having the one observation on Daryl, and Daryl concedes that point. Paz and Elena are indulging in risk with the affair, though fuck Torres, as you said. Paz and Antonio are standing out as the favorites thus far of this Spain arc. Speaking of Antonio, he and Carol having the VERY prominent sparks, we are both investing in that fairly quickly. My heart is conflicted as it’s instantly on board with Carol/Antonio, yet it’s remembering the pain of how Daryl/Isabelle turned out, and I really do NOT want to go through that shit again. For the time being, the two have the very sweet energy, well shown with the dinner, and especially the movie time. A man shares a beloved movie with a lady: that’s a very big thing and speaks volumes. The movie being some excellent Buñuel, namely The Exterminating Angel. I recognized it before it was identified. The symbolism and subtext do not go unnoticed. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend the film, Jess. Don’t think you can presently stream it, though I see it is set to air on Turner Classic Movies at four tomorrow morning, five your time. Lovely moment when Antonio gently chided Carol, Carol apologized, and Antonio admits he’s not too upset. We both liked Carol having that “Funny you should say that.” look when the Mona Lisa got brought up. Praise indeed if she compares Antonio to Jerry. KNEW you would have such a sweet reaction to that, Jess. Similarly, high praise comparing Roberto to Glenn. There is a touch of Glenn in the young man, yes, and I think that goes to helping Daryl bond with him. Shame they’re both going to have the bad news when they get back. Bringing us to Justina. Yeah, we had similar reactions to Justina discovering that Federico was withholding her name from La Ofrenda for the past six years. You know that she feels the immense guilt. What’s particularly great from a narrative perspective is how you kind of end up in a middle ground with your response toward Federico about it. It is a very shady thing to more or less ensure that other innocent girls are forced into horrors in place of Justina, yet as it is his beloved niece, you understand why he’s doing it. We both correctly surmised Justina’s decision about the same time when she spoke with Carol. Federico is very clearly heartbroken being left with no choice to give her up. Hits you the shot of Paz in tears about it. You know I do believe that you mentioned that you hate it. The emotion in your voice and the tears in your eyes at that makes a man’s heart slowly crack and shatter. Similar assessment of likely getting future scenes from Justina’s perspective, and that’s likely not going to be terribly pleasant. See how things go. Meantime, this was yet another great Daryl and Carol reaction, Jess, thank you so much.
