Daryl Dixon 3x02 Full Reaction!

Daryl Dixon 3x02 Full Reaction!

Comments

Saw your one comment that you were getting the camera settings closer to how you would ideally like them to be. It is looking great, I must say. All the positive vibes being sent your way for the busy week ahead, Jess, which yes, spending time with Daryl and Carol is a good way to kickstart said week. Now to the episode. More an establishing episode this week. Lot to dive into. Daryl and Carol surely know how to make a name for themselves, like you said. Love your reaction to the opening that reveals where Carol went off to. You, Daryl, me, everyone was worried, and all she did was she went off for a walk and stared at this young and in love couple. Figured you’d compare the young and in love couple to the cuteness couple of the France arc. Oh, I knew that you’re still not over it. I’m not over Isabelle’s death either, so we share a suffering as it were. Good on Daryl with the sterling accuracy with the archery, even though the one guy got away. Again, Daryl and Carol have to clarify about only really speaking English. That would be me as well. I too would have to say to the people here, “Lo siento, no hablo Español.” Know some, just nowhere near enough to be conversational. Feel bad for the couple being made to go back when they clearly didn’t want to. They had their reasons for leaving, which tends to send a red flag, as you observe. Noting that the cast is largely unfamiliar. The primary exception being Óscar Jaenada as Federico. Him I’ve seen before. You spoke well of the community, for the most part, seems reasonably welcoming. It does help that Daryl’s request to stay only long enough to let Carol get better is fair. It gets quite ominous when the one leader shows up. And apparently just in time for this yearly tradition. Yes, unsurprisingly, you were not ok with it. Knew that was coming. Called you going from concerned to horrified pretty quickly, especially after you learned about the whole forced marriage business. Particularly as I strongly recall the words you said of the miniseries Unorthodox four years ago. God, the look in your eyes at the specific scenes, makes a man want to give you a hug. The way you described your assessment of what we’ve seen in this episode, I can’t improve on what you said, Jess, that was perfect, what you said. Shared thing of feeling very bad for the young woman whose name was chosen. See that since Justina’s name was not called, it caused Roberto’s expression to soften toward Daryl. Remains to be seen if it means he’ll start warming up to Daryl. Quite like, uh, Paz, I think they said her name was. The gitano character. Like her. Looking forward to unpacking the longing gazes that she had. Leads to quite the conundrum. Daryl’s wanting to stay out of it with the “This is not our fight” mentality. Considering what Daryl’s been through in the parent show, combined with his experience in France, can’t entirely fault him for his response. Especially as he is still mourning Isabelle and he really doesn’t want a repeat of getting attached to anyone in this community only to lose them. By contrast, Carol has been through what she’s been through, which you highlighted, and she’s quite against the idea of what’s going on. Love how Daryl tries to deescalate before having to leave the table to take care of the one guy and his group. Federico’s mother is also not incorrect when she says to Carol that she and Daryl are strangers in an unfamiliar land, and though Carol has her objections, she likewise has no solution, at least not now. And for her part, Carol acknowledges that, and does offer a partial apology. Frederico, for his part, seems, and mind you, I say seems to be in something of a middle ground. He makes the case of it all being very dirty business done in order to survive, yet by the same token, it appears he does not entirely hold it against Carol for her stance on the matter. Or at least he doesn’t blame her for having the response that she had. Again, you know this will get dived into more. And as Carol, you, me, all of us Slytherins three, it is a forgone conclusion that she’s not letting this go. I know you don’t want her to, and I concur with you. And there’s the other most important part of the episode: the cat. Oh, we both had practically the exact same reaction to the precious cat, up to and including the polite request that this show kindly not kill the cat. I knew you’d say something like what you said. Praying to God the cat lives. Meantime, that scene of Carol holding the cat in her arms, Jesus, I almost wept at how precious that was. All in all, another terrific reaction to this show. Wishing again that you have the positive vibes, and thank you for the reaction, Jess.
