Supernatural 12x23 Full Reaction!

Supernatural 12x23 Full Reaction!

Comments

Playing with your emotions right at the start, and it only exacerbates from there. I do believe that you speak true of this episode being an epitome of “Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that REALLY got out of hand, fast.” Only saw this once right before you went on break. Memory’s a mite rusty at spots, but I recall well enough. Shared thing of not sure I can be too insightful with this one. Start by talking about other things to follow your strategy. This whole season, you felt bad for Kelly, and it reaches a head here. Poor woman. She seemed nice. Without wishing to detract how the heart does go out to her in the scene where she speaks of what she won’t live to see, I heard all that, and quipped that I still can’t ride a normal bike even in my mid-thirties, and short of a miracle, my mom’s probably not seeing me ever get married, so Kelly’s not alone in that boat, if it makes her feel any better. Gets you too how Mary has the scenes with Kelly before her death. And her death does feel the most unquestioned. This Jack is now born and there is still concern about him, though you said how it’s not your biggest concern. He didn’t have the Jerry Goldsmith score playing when we saw him, hence, I concur that he’s not at the forefront of my mind at present. With you on Rowena, as that scene is a sick joke. There’s NO WAY she’s dead. It’s not even a question of denial, (and not just the river in Egypt,) it’s a question of how UNBELIEVABLE it would be for the show to kill Rowena in this manner. The boys do have their denial, along with their avoidance behavior. Much though they wouldn’t want to talk about that, it cracks a man up when you follow the example. Rowena’s death: We don’t see it happen, it’s not real, moving the fuck on, thank you so goddamn much, as you said yourself. Christ, my dad would have loved you with your thought process on that one. Love how there was zero surprise about Crowley’s survival. The one episode prior all but spelled it out, which though you didn’t quite catch it in the previous episode, it did make your reaction here better. And we reveal that Crowley was the rat at the end of The Departed. I KNEW it. And he’s at the end of his rope, brought some big cards to the table, as you put it. Smart of Dean with the knife, though dumb of him to leave it at that. Crowley even calls them out on that one. Hell of a thing when the thingy (No, wait, that’s not the thingy. The thingy is paying the visit to Keir Dullea to turn him into the space baby. Maybe.) leads to this alternate world. Immensely wonderful when you realized about Bobby just before the big reveal. Jim never fails as Bobby. Breaks the heart how this variant of Bobby never got to be the boys’ dad. That’s hell. You see your late dad again, and he doesn’t even know you. Very sick of the show on that one. While they’re at it, why don’t they give me a paper cut and pour lemon juice on it? It won’t hurt as much as that business of Bobby not being the boys’ dad in this alternate reality, but it’ll distract from that pain. I gather the setting is a big part of the next season. Mary can take care of herself, and it is satisfying to see Lucy begin to wallow in despair. Plus, Mary will have Bobby to help her out, thus we get the team up of the boys’ mom and dad, just a shame that the alternate variant of their father is long dead. Likewise, a shame that before Lucy is trapped, he ran Castiel through, Lord, your reaction was strong there. You and me both on waiting to see how that’s going to be addressed. I mean, Castiel looks dead, though you note that with this show, death is not always permanent. Far as appearances go, however, Castiel looks dead, so we wait to see the aftermath of that scene. And now we talk about Crowley. And I confess myself disappointed that this is how he goes out. One caveat is that he does wipe that stupid smile off of Lucy’s face, and he does have that farewell to the boys. Love how you did catch the need to sacrifice a life. Don’t see why it needed to be Crowley, even if the ritual required the life of a demon. I’m aware of statements and comments Mark has made about this season, and I’m understanding them now. Goddamn though, does he sell the “Bye, boys.” line so well. And he drives the blade through his blackened heart and thus perished our dear Crowley. The other rotten thing is how the death isn’t lingered on much. You got me bad with your reaction to Crowley’s death, and the words imparted afterward. You spoke of how Crowley and his presence making the show so good, and you’d like for that to continue. Yeah, well, that makes two of us, and now I’m even more goddamn depressed hearing you say that, with the voice cracking slightly and everything. Give me a minute to recover from that one, ok? Not yet seen the next episode, so we’ll see how that goes. For now, a tremendous first reaction back for Supernatural, Jess, thank you.
