Love the cool look that Beverly gives Data, leading to that great line that he has, which is such great character building. The look of the place does have an Isla Nubar look to it, now you mention it. One would half expect to hear Muldoon say that line. Wouldn’t say no to Nedry either.

I had a feeling you'd enjoy this one, Jess. It's a great Geordi redemption episode after Galaxy's Child. "I am... strongly motivated." Love that scene with Data. Great bit of character building for him showing his humanity and care for his best friend. Great seeing those early-season TNG uniforms again.
I don't know why, but the location that they beam down to in this episode reminds me of Jurassic Park. The opening scene with the Raptor cage, where one of the workmen gets eaten. I half expect someone to start shouting, "SHOOT HER!"

For the hands, my mind went to "Because it's not a hand! It's not a hand at all! Not since Bill bit me!"
Like I said when we lost Patti, you can tell all you need from how she doesn't appear in much of a percentage of the episodes, and is usually just there to hand things to Beverly, but a ton of fans still latched on to her as an important part of the ensemble. And I wish she could have built a bigger career off this role, but at least she managed to slip in that very surprising showing in Beef to let us see what more she was capable of.

Could hear the pouring rain, but the noise was not too obtrusive. Hopefully it did die down some prior to the errands that you said you had to run, though unless I heard wrong, it sounded like it did fade, so that sounds like fortuitous circumstance for you. Amusingly enough, it’s presently raining where I’m at right now. Hearing the thunder and lightning, it takes me a second to ascertain about the sound if that’s outside or in the video. Now to the episode. Another Geordi focus. We did surely need a Geordi redemption episode, (boy that sounds weird to say,) like you said. Lovely to see that, no surprise, you loved the episode, stressful ordeal though it was. Knew that from the opening scene that you’d be on board with this one. Warms the heart to see the expeditious manner in which you invested in the friendship that is the Leijten and La Forge show. Yeah, the whole set up of losing control of body and mind whilst being transformed is one of the more terrifying concepts. It sends an ominous note that Beverly acknowledged about the speed of the transformation that it’s difficult to say, hours, days, it depends on the subject’s constitution. Love how it is a nice balance of Susanna exhibiting behavior that wouldn’t send the biggest red flags. Shared response to the anxiety being familiar by the way. Only starts becoming more apparent when the hands start shaking, and before they know it, they’ll start to resemble Peter Sellers in trying to stop the hand from involuntarily moving. This being before their hands could pass for Danny DeVito as the Penguin. And as you of course dreaded, it means that Geordi is in danger. Man still has to do his work in solving the problem. It is a good moment when Geordi asks Picard what he would do in Geordi’s place, and Picard has the “Touché.” response in conceding that. Data worries something fierce. Love Beverly forcing Data to cut the bullshit of him saying about not having the emotions, and indeed, it was a beautiful thing seeing your reaction to Data conceding that he is in fact... strongly motivated to solve the mystery. Picard and Beverly were simpatico with you on the demand that they keep the strict Geordi watch, at all times. And though it’s not the focus on the episode, I love the showcasing the energy of Picard and Beverly when working together to solve problems and mysteries. Especially great when more in private settings, Beverly refers to Picard as Jean-Luc. Having someone with Geordi would have been advisable. Data would have been the best candidate for staying with him. Setting aside the matter of bestie support, there would be no danger of him being infected. Even with the slim chance of Beverly’s assessment of the transmission of the parasite, as an android, it wouldn’t affect Data. Hell of a thing, you yelling at Geordi to call Beverly when the beginning of symptoms of the Peter Sellers hands started. Especially adorable when you made the phone call gesture whilst insisting that Geordi do the smart thing and call Beverly. Well, he didn’t do that, leading to the finale: The hunt for Geordi with the Predator camouflage that ideally would end with tackling his invisible naked ass and then haul him back up, as you amusingly encouraged. The resolution, instead, goes with the sweeter option. And indeed, it is a very sweet thing of Susanna getting through to Geordi. Beverly exhibits her brilliance in finding the cure saving both Susanna and Geordi, alas too late for their compatriots to be saved. Nice that Alyssa gets some good moments as was foretold by Patti being in the opening credits. Seeing Patti’s name in the credits gets me excited as it generally means at least one good scene with Beverly in an episode, and it means Alyssa, and it’s always very nice to see Patti as Alyssa. Gates and Patti do very good work in selling Beverly and Alyssa’s excellent professional rapport with each other. Just a lovely thing to see you enjoy this Geordi episode, Jess, and thank you for the wonderful reaction.
