Yes, weird to say that it’s the first reaction after the break when you filmed long before the break. Here is hoping that when this drops on youtube, that said break was most beneficial, and you are feeling rested and refreshed. Sort of hope there’s a shared feeling as nothing is for sure, but I might be going on a small break myself next month, but I need to see if that’s a viable option. Meantime, we have this episode, which, yes, is a lot. Much to say. You did know that at some point, we’d start having the stronger focus on Kelly’s plotline. We both had strong reactions to the opening scene. The imagery of that is strongly evocative of The Death of Marat. Everything about your reaction to Kelly’s attempted suicide just got me so bad, Jess. Jesus, did I want to give you a hug on that one, especially as I felt the similar feelings of just being sick to the stomach watching those scenes. She’s brought back by her baby, and she takes that as irrefutable proof that the kid is a good egg. Kid also, as you noted, fixed her makeup, which I didn’t catch that part, but ok. You hold onto the hope that she’s right, meaning you’re kinder than I am. My continuous response, this is not a spoiler, mind you, as I’ve not seen past this episode, was something along the lines of, “What the fuck are you talking about, lady!? Have you watched The Omen Trilogy!?” Good to see Castiel again. Dean surely is plucked, more so when the colt is swiped. Castiel really hitting home with talking about how he keeps failing, and how he rather desperately wants a win for once. I think I got insanely called out on that one. Gets me good seeing how that scene got you emotional and teary eyed as it did. You like how later, Dean actually acknowledges Castiel’s desire for a win and starts to ease up on the hostility. And the baby gave him visions, muddying the waters and making you wonder if the kid is manipulating with some version of the truth, like his father before them as that is something that the Devil often does. Do like the differences of Dean is more on the side of the kid will be born pure evil, and Sam is more hopeful. Even with Dean’s more aggressive stance, it does speak to Dean’s character of being reluctant to kill a baby. Tellingly, he avoided answering Castiel’s question. Sam came up with a good strategy that Dean agreed with. Shame that Dagon kept gumming up the works to the point that you just keep saying to Dagon, “Alice, don’t.” every time that she does so. And now she destroys the colt, hope the Brits get pissed over that one. Hell of a thing when she’s killed. And now Castiel takes Kelly off somewhere. See how that plays out. Again, when it comes to foreknowledge, I’m as in the dark about this one as you are. People at work didn’t talk about this plotline. Or if they did, I misremember. Any case, they have to figure out shit by the eighteenth of May, which, yes, presumably that was the date of the season finale, the time to show season finales for network dramas tends to be around mid-May, so that tracks. See how it plays out, like I said. Thanks for the fun reaction, and again, hoping that when this hits youtube, that you and I have had marvelous breaks. If I can’t get one in, well, then I hope yours will be lovely, Jess.
