Volumes 101 - Linear Volume Ramp

So your client gets specific about how and where he'd like to have a volume fade out? Fear not! We've got you covered with this simple setup to linearly dial in your volume's density values using a single guide line.

This is an addendum to our Volumes 101 - we just recently had to build this setup and thought it'd match well with the existing course. Enjoy!

Comments

There is now a much easier way to achieve falloff in volume with the new volumerasterize workflow for volumes. 1. Create your @Cd ramp by relpointbbox or @P on geo 2. Append pyrosource, initialise to "source color" (point separation 0.01) 3. Append volumerasterizeattributes1, call attributes density and Cd (voxel size 0.02) 4. Optional: append volume vop, noise density 5. Append volume visualiser Done

Curveu works just as fine - I just couldn't be bothered to drop down a resample and was in the mood for low level VEX :) Cheers, Mo

Thanks for sharing. Why just multiply with curveu from the closest point on curve, I think it's much simple. Do you have some reason to do like this ?

Thank You very much, Moritz.
