2025-05-21 01:23:53 +0000 UTCI've always thought this movie was massively underrated - and that Denzel should have been at least nominated. I know some people have an issue with the editing, but I think even then - I like the style personally but.. It's got a bit of everything. It's very in Tony Scott's style, the next movie he did, Domino, is also very similar to that "extreme" (which is imo another one that is underrated). It's not a true story, it's a remake of a movie that was based on a book - but they definitely included true elements like the ear lopper brothers who were a very real Mexican abduction gang - they even gave them the same name, and I'm guessing Creasy is a little bit based on various people that TS talked to before making it. Has Kristen seen Once Upon a Time in Hollywood? Seems like it'd be right up her street in several senses of the meaning of that - and has Dakota Fanning as an adult actress (though granted not much). NGL I actually prefer her sister as an actress (if we were doing tier lists), imo she's a little bit more talented (and she picks better roles for herself usually) even though Dakota is more famous. Dakota is good, for sure, but if you made me pick.. I think Training Day and this are my favourite Denzel movies, but American Gangster is great too, Flight is another great one of his. Crimson Tide is arguably some of his best acting but Gene Hackman really does steal the show a little bit in that one. His singularly most underrated movie imo is Roman J. Israel, Esq - particularly if you're into legal dramas, he's very subdued in it (in a way that fits the character) but it's a great character and a very real issue in the US: the abuse of plea bargaining to induce guilty pleas - it's definitely not for everybody though.

Which defeats the whole purpose of tags. Plus, if I want to watch someone specific, I cannot. And Patreon's scroll and search ability is terrible.
