there was a scene at the end in the regular version that explains what happens to the planet after riddick is in charge strange how it's cut from the directors cut though

Shame they did a Firefly on that show (it wasn't on that level but it was going somewhere) - then again if they didn't I wonder if he wouldn't have been able to do The Boys. It's a bit all over the place compared to the first one in terms of wildly different movie and the third is somewhere else again - I tend to consider Riddick essentially a vehicle to write random science fiction movies with; much like how Cloverfield is.
