2025-03-20 05:00:48 +0000 UTCThere's an internet myth that Dredd stole the idea from the Raid movie, they were making this first, it isn't at all true. Speaking as one of the about 5 people in the world who went to see this at the cinema (it was cool in 3d, it was well executed, they did some pretty cool stuff with it) it's a shame we'll probably never get another one of these with Karl Urban as Dredd - but then again we thought the same about Constantine after nobody went to see it and Hollywood is desperate after completely running out of ideas, Karl Urban wants to do more so never say never? Gav of the Slow Mo Guys was involved in the filming of this, does it show? :p It's a very Brutalism era way of building "communities" - and a proven utterly terrible idea, but then I guess in a post-apocalyptic world you might not have a lot of choice, but it's kinda realistic in a weird sort of way - those buildings would be exactly that amount of crime-filled.
