To clarify some confusion, the crowd was chanting Howard Beach in reference to the 1986 beating and murder of a black man Michael Griffith after being chased by a mob of white teens in Queens when the car he was broke down. Hoses were historically used to control crowds during the Civil rights movement and Vietnam protest. Lots of significant references. l appreciate your thoughtful analysis β₯οΈ

Jaby and Michael will love the contrast in John Turturro's and Ossie Davis's characters in Jungle Fever whenever they get to it if they continue with the Spike Lee films, which I hope they do.
