2025-01-21 17:59:36 +0000 UTCI personally thought this movie was quite boring and I normally love period stuff 😩 If you want to do more period movies you can watch the classic Mughal E Azam, the colorized version (1960). It's easily in the top 5 most well known Indian classics. It will introduce you to Madhubala (she was nicknamed the Indian Marilyn Monroe and American producers wanted to launch her in the US but her conservative father refused, she died very young of heart issues at 36), and to Dilip Kumar, one of the most well known actors of the time, and even to Prithviraj Kapoor, the Kapoor patriarch (Rishi's grandfather, who came from Punjab and became a star during the era of silent movies). The movie is a period romance between a prince and a courtesan, it's based on a legend about the real prince Salim who became Emperor in the early 17th century. The visuals are quite stunning (again, the colorized version is a must).
