Great reaction, Steph and Kristen. One of my fav movie, very nostalgic for me. Saw this movie in Abu Dhabi cinemas when I was just 12 yr old. The costume designs were from Jean Paul Gaultier, hence bizarre and unique at the same time, perfect for a futuristic world.

I'm a photographer and digital artist and I literally own a pseudo replica of the bandage outfit Leeloo wears at the beginning of the movie :P This is one of my greatest artistic inspirations! I even saw this movie in the theater at age 14-same time I got my massive life long crush on Mila Jovovich! Also-Ruby Rod was originally slated to be played by Prince-and thus Chris Tucker based his performance on Prince ;)
