I love the time lapse with pregnancy and frustration. I like the idea of the wife getting pregnant by the captors while still in love with her recently castrated husband. He struggles against his progressive, inevitable impotence and his wife's heat felt affection fading to mutual acceptance of who is and who is not a male.
