We may not know people who have gone through these experiences personally, but the news that we've grown up watching, the kind of real Stories that we hear from family and friends...it all informs us. Family Man was a similar series...where they based it on real news articles of India. So everything felt familiar and believable... even though we don't personally know anyone in law enforcement.
