As someone who was stationed on US Air Force bases in England I can verify there are a small but very active group of English men and women that love hanging outside military bases and taking pictures of aircraft as they go about their business.

It was called Bad Lads Army, and they took a bunch of delinquents to an old army camp and made everyone put on WWII cosplay and do boot camp stuff. Anyone could leave any time and the only prize was pride and I think expungement of criminal records. I never saw the end and never found the videos for sale.

The guy who was in on it and pretended to shit out a fake worm, the stupid training camp where they convinced them artificial gravity had been invented. The ending reveal where the families clapped at the dumbfounded participants. Absolute TV insanity from coked-up producers. This has lived in my memory to the point I thought it didn’t actually happen, so it’s incredible you’re doing an episode on it!
