I just had a funny idea. Daichi should teach the the gang how to play bingo, and for the card spots use all the various excuses kakashi gives for being late. The other jonin sensei will see it and spread it around.

2025-10-14 18:20:46 +0000 UTCYou raise some strong points about Kakashi’s flaws as an instructor — especially his tendency to test students on lessons they haven’t explicitly been taught, his detached teaching style, and his emotional unavailability. In canon, those flaws stem heavily from his trauma and perfectionism. He measures others (and himself) by impossible standards because of guilt over past failures (Obito, Rin, Minato). Early Kakashi, especially during Team 7’s first bell test, absolutely comes across as cold and unforgiving. However, what makes things interesting is that Kakashi’s portrayal here is subtly re-contextualized. Daichi’s influence on Kakashi in particular. Kakashi softened and matured earlier than in canon. His decision to revise the bell test here shows that he’s learning from that model. You’re absolutely right that Kakashi still isn’t an ideal teacher but the story keeps him human, fallible, and still learning. That's part of the charm. At least this is what I think.

It *is* the best way to do a psych assessment, but if the academy doesnt teach teamwork then where else would they learn it before now? He seems to have learned a bit from Daichi, but if you think back to Minato and how his students failed the bell test but he accepted them anyways, canon Kakashi (and during Daichi's time) didnt understand it as a teaching tool but used it as a pass/fail due to his own unresolved trauma. Realistically, Kakashi is not a well adjusted individual who should be teaching fresh genin. He is constantly late, doesnt communicate well, fails to teach technique or strategy, and is limited in his approach due to the fact that he himself was a genuis and doesnt really understand that other people dont pick up things by silent example the way he did. In other words, a terrible teacher.
