2025-10-10 18:47:33 +0000 UTCI always felt that if there were a remix of the Konoha 9 rookie teams that these made the most sense: Shikamaru-Hinata-Naruto Sakura-Choji-Shino Sasuke-Ino-Kiba They trend away from the more specialized teams of canon, but actually make better use of the skills of most of the shinobi involved. Sakura learning genjutsu from Kurenai is a no brainer, and pair that with Shino to still to surveillance and Choji to frontline for them, and theyre a well rounded team. Shikamaru's Shadow Bind jutsu covers the only flaw of Hyuuga shinobi, being close range, and the byakugan can give Shikamaru unparalleled on site intel without needing to cover for a possession. Naruto v Kiba here just comes down to personality types. Putting Naruto and Sasuke on the same team is a bad idea from that alone, but Naruto also gets on well with these 2, and he doesnt run the risk of the sharingan unleashing Kurama at some point. He is also a unique tool Shikamaru can use, and has a devious mind that can pair well with Shika while also being a golden distraction for the team. This leaves Sasuke as the clear leader of his team, an assault specialist, but one who can think as well. Ino can possess anyone caught in a sharingan genjutsu, but is also a Yamanaka who are psychologists by trade - pretty good to have the psychologically scarred lone survivor of a renowned clan to grow close to over time. Kiba rounds them out by default, but there are 2 pluses here. With Akamaru, there is an extra body to help protect Ino while she is out, and the tracking is actually something Team 7 would suck at without Kakashi, and Kiba and Akamaru could likely learn a lot from him due to his summons. Obviously, the original characters were designed to work well together. But if I had to remix them, I think this is the most optimal combination without just lumping the less powerful characters all onto one team.

The Ninja Ranks are both singular and plural (very common mistake in the fandom, along with adding U in the words when not necessary) and the switch from First name-last name, to Last name-first name. It's not so much a complaint, as something that through me for a second. My ADHD tends to snag on to little things like that, sadly. 😅 (Glad to see you're back into the swing of things).
