This movie and The Transformers: The Movie are responsible for my taste in music being basically Queen and some other rock.

2022-07-07 22:53:31 +0000 UTCBecause not being embarrassed about the comic book origins of these characters when making a movie is a very recent thing. Look at how the X-Men movies changed all the costumes to black leather (even giving Cyclops the line "Would you prefer yellow spandex?") rather than faithfully recreate the characters' appearances. No one wanted to be seen as making something for children, so for a long time we ended up with the best adaptations of these characters ironically being in kids cartoons. Batman the Animated Series, the Justice League cartoon, various Marvel ones in the 90s, they all ended up being far better than the supposedly more adult movies based on the same franchises.
