The year was sometime in the early '70s. Three people with one wet cough and zero erections tried to invent the first porn parody.
We are joined by our friend Michael Swaim (Small Beans, Cracked, IGN) to try to make sense of it in our first ever episode of 1-900-HOTDOG Nights (with sexy new theme song from Auralnauts). It's filthy. Filthy.
It started with a married couple arguing over an erotic newspaper. The husband worked at a factory, maybe an office. He didn't know how to have sex or maybe he had too much. His wife was unemployed, wait maybe she was a prostitute. She had kids from a previous marriage, hold on, they could be her current husband's and at school during the time of filming. The point is, there was no script and 98% of this adult film was an ad libbed argument between two confused, naked idiots. It's called Bat Pussy.
Maybe. Probably. It was found in the trash two decades after it was abandoned, and the "main" character is called "Bat Woman" almost as often as she's called "Bat Pussy." She's the protector of Gotham City and she's upset because her vagina sensed, and I quote, "fuckin' dirty motherfuckers are makin' fuck films in [her] Gotham City." But also she seems mad for not being included in the production of the porno? And look, I promise I'm not trying to confuse you, but it's also worth mentioning that no one in the movie is filming a porno.
Bat Pussy was an impossibly strange idea even before they fucked up every possible aspect of production, and they were right to hide it. We shouldn't have dug it up and described it to you. I mostly feel like the same person I was before I watched every frame of the 49 minutes without blinking, but that voice is louder now and it won’t stop laughing. Sleep seems unlikely at this point. My main two takeaways from this were that I wish I could know what thoughts were going through the heads of the people driving by and seeing some lunatic bouncing along the highway in a shitty Halloween costume and by the end that man was more angry at his uncooperative dick than anyone on Fox News has ever been about anything. Also, you will never convince me that their names are not Daryl and Lurleen.

I know the danger but I’m curious. And I can be careful. Maybe I’m the one who can make it out the otherside. But it’s a faustian bargain. For I know that even if I am successful the cost will be great. Also congrats on the anniversary.

And unless you were into comics in 1965 it’s entirely possible to have approached a group of people and asked who is batman and they’d have no idea. And 5-7 years later a group of people unfamiliar with both batman and sex as well as a what can be generously described as performance anxiety decided to do a bat porn parody. That is fascinating.

I saw it with maybe thirty other people at my local Alamo Drafthouse, and by the end we had gone from a small room of strangers to being deeply connected in a way more fitting for children of abusive parents or victims of war crimes. I took a lady I had just started seeing - I think it was our third date. I thought it would be fun and sexy. It was so deeply the opposite of both of those things. Amazingly, we are about to celebrate our 4 year anniversary.
