Had to go watch your reaction to this one again. *sigh* SO GOOD! The sex in this ep is amazing -- I understand they are friends and good actors but the chemistry is off the charts!

Hi Evie, Needless to say, we have been waiting a long time for you to get to these last couple of episodes 😜 Okay fun fact: Sam learned how to use that printing press for this episode and he printed many of the pages that are hanging up in the print shop to dry. Not many men can make that tricorn hat sexy, but damn Jamie looks good wearing it, but I miss his KILT!!!!! 🤬 Another fun fact: The set of the print shop was the apothecary in Paris from season 2 I have to be honest, I’m not a big fan of his friends from prison Lesley and Hayes. IMHO, they are just a poor mans Angus and Rupert. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I love seeing the reunion from Jamie’s point. Sam did such an excellent job when he heard “It’s me, Claire” you can really see it in his eyes. First he hears a familiar voice and then you can actually see it click and the realization in his eyes that it’s Claire and I just love that we can see all of that just in his eyes. Bravo Sam👏🏼 It’s so obvious that Madam Jean had feelings for Jamie and the disappointed look on her face when Jamie and Claire went up the stairs was so clear. She really wanted him for herself. Too bad Madam… he loves Claire! I love that they spent so much time undressing each other. It was so intimate and sensual. Haha… what’s a bicycle? That to me is actually really funny because I remember seeing this episode for the first time and on the same day, Sam posted a picture on Instagram of him carrying a mountain bike up to a trail. He is such an outdoor guy. One thing I love about this show unlike other shows is the continuity with the scars. We can see where Jamie was shot in the shoulder in the very first episode when he fell off the horse, we see where he was branded and cut on his side when he got into the sword fight with the MacDonalds after Sandringham’s duel and if we look close at the fingers on his left hand while he was eating, we will see the scars from when Claire repaired his crushed fingers. On other TV shows we might see a scar for a few episodes and then we never see it again. Evie, remember a few episodes ago when Jamie was living in the cave and almost got caught holding Jenny’s newborn when Fergus shot the raven? That was young Ian who you met when he came to Jamie’s room looking for him. I just LOVE young Ian!! Okay now the elephant in the room. Evie, could you tell that he was wearing a wig in this episode? This was the year that Sam cut his hair for a movie roll and didn’t grow it back. They shoot the episodes out of order, but you should be able to tell that it’s not Sam’s curly hair that we’ve seen in the first 2 seasons and I really miss it. The last time we saw his own hair was “All debts paid” the episode when he was in prison and met John Grey. There is an upcoming episode where he doesn’t have his hair pulled back in a tie at all and you should be able to see that it’s his hair that we’ve come to know, so that episode was shot before he cut it. 😢

Just wait until next episode . . .the shit hits the fan! Your guesses about what Jamie is hiding may very well be CORRECT! But wait, there's more! :)

First, before any A. Malcom episode freak out can start... the woman adjusting Jamie's tie... the Landlady, a Business Partner, NOT Girlfriend! As the episode begins, I apprciated Evie admiring Jamie; "Doing his craft!" It's kinda of special... how special... she sees this idealized male character. (extremely idealized) Also please note EVIE SMILES for 90+% of this episode!!! I'll do the same for Clare. I don't know, but somehow, Clare looks even BETTER than she did in the exact same shot in last F&W scene - She looks angelic! (extremely beautiful, so special) Then we get to the whole Clare and Jamie re-meeting and admeasuring the lost 20 years from one another at the print shop capped off by Evie holding her head, squealing, and full on weeping at the FIRST KISS. I think Evie says it best... it seemed a rare privilege we all had at the re-meet. And for me... when he calls her Sassench for the first time (on this side of the 20 years) seems magical. A special moment was Clare meeting her once sort of adopted son, the now 'young man,' Fergus! An interesting moment was meeting Mr. Willowby. A less comfortable introduction was to Madam Jan and the brothel folk. And then... THE HEART and PURPOSE of this EPISODE... The long awaited reacquaintance of the Lord and Lady of Lallybroch. The dinner was enchanted and what came after was... not perfect, but it was heaven. As I claimed for F&W being the ideal mirrored match of the great Df-in-A, I see this wonderful episode, specifically THIS SCENE, as the perfect echo to the 'The Wedding,' episode... a magical 'perfect' echo. Then a very important introduction is made... Clare to Young Ian! Oh, you're going to come to love him! And finally, of course what would an Outlander episode be without Clare finding herself in mortal danger (almost always a sexual assault). For me, this episode is not a masterpiece like F&W, but just so incredibly special... worth 20 years of longing and heartache. And yes Evie, your intuition is NOT QUITE WRONG... There may be some baggage for Jamie that hasn't been fully disclosed yet and may be something you might not like!

Hi Evie ^^Loved your reaction to this one too !!! Soooooo much more to come....you are not ready ah ahhh ^^The intimacy between Claire and Jamie is sooooooo woooow....It was burning through the screen. They are really good actors :p and it felt so real. xx

Nessie- Je lis, et alors

I always thought the Madam had a serious crush on Jamie and he doesn't seem like the type to mix business with pleasure. Jamie also seems like a big flirt when talking to women or maybe that is just his charm and since he hasn't told the Madam that it is never going to happen between the two of them she has hope it will and lets him get away with things she probably wouldn't for anyone else.

Thanks Evie! I will watch both episodes when I get off work tonight
