The thing is what they actually did with this storyline is very scientific , we already saw in season 5 that vampire blood could cure the diseases that caused by virus or bacteria as we saw Damon was experimenting this on D.r Wess , he injected him with multiple infections to get information out of him and when he was done he gave him his blood to cure all the diseases and it worked so why it doesn’t work for cancer ? To answer this question we have to get to the nature of cancer , the cancer cells are abnormal cells in the body that replicate and grow out of control , what vampire blood does for the body ? It only cures the injuries by speeding up the replication process in the cells , so if we give vampire blood to the cancer patients , it might cure the injuries caused by cancer cells temporarily but it’s gonna affect the cancer cells as well by speeding up the replication process , the cells are already suffering from growing uncontrollably now adding vampire blood to them , it’s gonna make the situation even worse and it could kill the person and if they turned to the vampire that means now they have that magic insider their body permanently the magic helps increase the rate of replication which means it’s gonna still affect the cancer cells and make them grow, so because of the nature of the cancer cells the vampire blood can’t help the situation and it actually makes thing worse , it’s sad there’s absolutely nothing they can do for liz 😔
