I don't if anyone told you, but Dean got rid of the Samulet because it kept hitting Jensen in the face and at one point it chipped a tooth. He wanted it gone, and this seemed like a good place, with Dean being so low and without hope.

2022-06-14 15:01:59 +0000 UTCIt’s weird because until now, I never questioned that Ash rescued Sam and Dean from Zachariah, because when they were at The Roadhouse, they seemed to be safe, but as soon as they left Ash, Zachariah found them. It also never occurred to me that he could be manipulating the memories. If that were the case, why was Dean getting happy memories if Zachariah was trying to make him feel hopeless. I always believed that Dean threw away the Samulet because he’d lost hope in God the same as Cass. Again, it never occurred to me that Zachariah was trying to drive a wedge between the brothers until I read Linda’s comment. I’ve gone back and started watching your Supernatural reactions from the pilot and boy, the brothers look like babies in the first few episodes trying to pass themselves off as college students to get information rather that pretending to be FBI and when they do, people say they are too young to be FBI. It’s weird for me because I watched all 15 seasons and by the end, Dean is in his early 40’s and Sam is in his late 30’s and there are episodes when kids are calling them old which always gets under Dean’s skin and they say “I’m getting too old for this” Recently I got to an episode leading up to Sam meeting all the other physic kids at the end of season 2 where people are claiming that an angel told them to kill a bad person and Dean was adamant that angels weren’t real, but Sam wanted to believe in angels because he hoped that it meant he wouldn’t turn evil. It turned out to be the spirit of a murdered priest who was doing it. As I was watching Dean say there’s no such thing as angels, I kept saying just you wait until S4😊 Evie, I’m having trouble opening the dropbox links, are you able to use vimeo rather than dropbox?

I think they are real, but Zachariah was cherry picking. We know he has the ability, especially since he manipulated Dean's memory with his mom. If he can alter a memory, he can surly alter which ones come up in sequence. Just like there is no way Sam had no happy memories with Dean (and John), Dean probably had some that weren’t revolving around his family. The memories that came up played too well into Dean's insecurities, and were too clearly intended to drive the wedge between them wider. not to have been at least partially manipulated by the angels. I just feel so bad for both Sam and Dean in this episode. Heartbreaking all around. Also, I miss Pamela. But if I were her, and chilling out in this version of heaven, I’d have gone ahead and kissed both Dean and Sam…

2022-06-12 03:33:21 +0000 UTCGreat reaction! It's 100% still up in the air how much of the boys' heavens were true and how much was manipulated by Zachariah. Personally, I think that those memories were likely true memories that were happy ones for each of them, but I think Zachariah chose to ONLY show the memories where Sam was leaving, or happy when he was away from his family, leaving out any of Sam's memories that were happy with Dean. There must have been a LOT of happy memories with Dean, and even with John - there must have been some! Just like in S4 I think the angels are trying to manipulate the situation, drive a wedge between the brothers, and are trying to crush Dean's hopes and spirit so much that he just gives in. I mean, we know from My Bloody Valentine that Dean is already so lost and hopeless, the fact that even God can't (won't) help them was just like a nail in the coffin I think. I also think, that's why he threw away the Samulet. I think to him it was a symbol of his bond with Sam, and after everything that happened in heaven, I think he felt like Sam obviously didn't feel that same way, so what was the point of keeping it. I was heartbroken that he threw it away, but I think it just shows, again, how completely lost he is. Your jealousy of Pamela when she was kissing Dean made me laugh, cause - same!! 😄😄 Fantastic reaction - SO looking forward to the next one. 😊💓
