The Originals 2x05 - "Red Door" FULL REACTION

Comments

Esther and mikael are 2 very interesting characters and like their children they have done unforgettable things, but it’s no different to the unforgettable things the orginals have done, only difference is that we are made to love the orginals so we are blind to all the horrors they have committed in their one thousand years of life and any sense of horrors done to the same extent to them is seen as unnecessary or undeserving. Esther loves her children, all of them and later you’ll find out just how badly she wanted children, but like I’ve said she spent the one thousands years of death on the other side watching every single horrible act her children committed without being able to interfere in any way shape or form, as a witch and protector of life she has a duty to maintain the balance and avoid doing anything that jeopardizes it, but she loved her children so much that she abondon those teaching to protect her family from any harm after henrik died, all of that came with side affects because nature always created a loop hole but she did her best to minimize them as she created the daylight rings to further help her family, the fact that after one thousand years of horrors she witnessed from all her children including the horrors they did to one another and doesn’t hate them shows just how powerful her love for them is, the first time she came to life after being dead for so long she wanted to kill them to wipe them from the earth as she was the one who created the vampire race and the horrible acts of her family aren’t all there are but also all the vampires in the world are doing unforgivable acts, for example ripper Stefan, she was looking to kill her family because of her now duty as a witch, she gave her family a chance and for one thousand years they gave her probably millions of reasons on why vampires needed to be exterminated from earth, and although that wasn’t the best option to go with she had every right to do so, we as viewers just don’t see it that way as we love the orginals and are the protagonists of the show, she failed and was killed off again, only to return and learned from her mistakes and now instead of killing them for good offered to give them a new body to live their life’s free from the curse she put on them and that even they consider to be, which in my opinion again shows just how much she loves her family that she looked for an extreme alternative to Save her family and undo the evil she created originally out of love for her own family, now mikael, he’s an interesting character but like Esther has his reasonings for what he does are they justifications? No but there is understanding to why he does what he does and is the way that he is, Mikael is a Viking, Vikings were ruthless in world history, they conquered villages around the world and took what they wanted and killed who they wanted (usually all the men) then abused the women for procrastination, anyone like that would be abusive to his family as it was probably normal back then due to the remorseless killing and unspeakable acts they did on daily basis, the reason klaus earned more of the abuse was due to his struggle to meet the standards mikael laid for him that his older sibling probably met, which were being more manly, hunting and fighting which many flash backs klaus has are his poor efforts to impress mikael in task he finds simple and necessary for being a Viking, we see all this abuse as horrible and unforgiving due to our much more advance society standards but back then it could’ve been seen as normal, Mikael disliked klaus but his hatred came when he killed his wife(klaus’s mother) then blamed him for it and turned his whole family to hate Mikael leaving him alone for one thousand years because even after he learned that klaus wasn’t his biological son he didn’t seem to want to kill him for it but instead chose to suppress his werewolf side and continue to father him, with the already death of his son henrik which even though was an accident, was still klaus’s fault and as a father the loss of a child is great, mostly when a boy is what Vikings wanted to further expand and leave their legacy through them, but the trigger for his murder rain started when klaus killed his wife, that’s when mikael hated and wanted to kill klaus as he was a constant reminder of everything wrong in mikaels family, he was a reminder of his wife’s infidelity, the reason for his youngest sons death, reason for his wife’s death, and now the reason for his whole family turning their backs on him, a lot of what mikael did was unforgivable and has no forgiveness but it’s important to see everyone’s point of view to further appreciate reasonings behind acts and appreciate the characters as a whole, great reaction and hope I helped you understand the orginals parents a little more, can’t wait for the next episode, hope your doing great 👍
