No one ever before tried to explain the vampire history and what they did it here, it makes so much sense and is so organic. The care the details are mind blowing. So now we know that Ester intention was to erase the entire vampire race. Elena never stopped to love Stefan and they never really had closure, but Stefan and Elena relationship is the product of Elena wanting to feel something again after the loss of her parents. He helped here to feel connected to life again and he wanted to feel a normal human life again, with “someone new, someone alive” “When I’m with her I forget who I am” that is what he said to Lexi when talking about Elena. But Elena is moving of from that grieving period, she is growing up. How relevant Stefan is going to be when she moves on entirely? Elena story with Damon has developed not because Stefan wasn’t there and she feels less for him, but because in his absence she had the chance to get to know Damon better and because Damon had the chance to prove himself to her more than ever, by being there for her, by selflessly wishing her and her brother to get back together, even if that hurt him. They always had a special connection; they get each other like nobody. Her feelings for Damon have nothing to do with Stefan absence. The hallucination sequence is a mix of Damon sensual desire for Elena and how he wishes to be relevant to her, as his brother was when she trusted him with feeding on her. I love that scene. We are getting closer to the end of the season and let’s see how things will play out. Aspect nothing but incredible plot twist and shocking cliff hangers, TVD style.
