Notice the sequence of events of these last few episodes, it all ties back the sequence of events that took place in episodes 1x10 and 1x11, Once, again, we know in a way the show wants us to look back at these events via the scenes we see take place. First, is the fact that this is now the third time we see Damon carrying Elena and saving her in this manner. The first time we see this take place is in 1x11 when Damon saves Elena from the car crash. The reason the car crash took place? Elena flees from Stefan after finding out that she looked like Katherine, and she leaves the necklace. So we have necklace left, Damon saving Elena, and road trip taking place. Now, this season, we have road trip taking place, Damon saving Elena, and now necklace being left on the table. The interwoven structure we see at play here is part of the TVD depth in understanding deeper and finer points of the story. They set up these scenes or moments that sort of click in your head.

2021-07-14 21:13:55 +0000 UTCThe song during the Katherine and Damon scene is Will Do by TV on the Radio, an interesting matter with this lies in the fact that the same group was used for the song during Damon's Existential Crisis and the last time we actually see him kill some one, Jessica. Katherine was his previous existential crisis and here goes a few of the lyrics from the song: It might be impractical to seek out a new romance We won't know the actual if we never take the chance I'd like to collapse with you and ease you against this song I think we're compatible, I see that you think I'm wrong Any time will do, my love Any time will do, no choice of words will break me from this groove Any time will do, my love Any time will do, what choice of words will take me back to you? 2021-07-14 16:05:34 +0000 UTCThis is one of my most favourite episodes of TVD. Paul as Ripper wow he acts so freaking well he looks terrifying. I loved how he resists feeding on Elena he tries I feel so bad for him at that time. He does love her a lot though I ship Delena hardcore and I see Damon with Elena any day I have to admit Stefan does love her a lot we can see that here. But Delena 🥺 that last scene wow wow wow so subtle but powerful he tells her I promise u I will never leave u again how adorable is that I love them so much 😭 Tyler is a hybrid Klaus’s first hybrid but everything has consequences - either good or bad we have to see how this one works out for him and Caroline as well. Joseph once again acts so well here. When he compelles Stefan to turn it off that always gives me chills he is a powerful actor always owns the screen. Michael Trevino- Tyler also acts so well when he transitions into a hybrid. We get to see Michael and how sacred klaus is of him this will be interesting. I also really liked matt’s moment with Vicky that was beautiful and good for him he atleast got to see her. All in all a great episode with great moments and even great acting.

Elena realized now, how dangerous ripper Stefan can be and understood what Damon was telling her, in Chicago. Also register how much she relys on Damon, how much having him around makes her feel safe and how much he cares for her and how him, going the any extreme to save her, is unvaliable. Damon is so tender with her.

2021-07-14 14:14:44 +0000 UTCI know right? Paul is so good, when he switch his humanity off and looked at Elena like she is nothing but food, he was terrifing!! So good. Now, how to get Stefan back? A vampire with his humanity off means, that he doesn't feel, pain, guilt, remorse, he is numb to emotions,he is like an animal, does wathever feels like to do, without a concience to bother him, carefree, and not caring about consequences. Klaus compelled Stefan to turn it off, he didn't compelled him never to turn it on again. So if Stefan wants he could. But to want it he has to have a very strong motivation, that overide the feeling to be releived from pain, guilt etc. the problem of not caring is the fact that takes away your motivations. That is a big problem.
