In this episode at the very end with the scene between Damon and Elena we have Damon state the following: Damon: I changed my mind because even in his darkest place, my brother still can't let me die. So I figure I owe him the same in return. I'll help you bring him back. Now, if we go all the way back to 1x14 Elena states the following to Damon: I'm promising you this now, I will help you get Katherine back. The reason this is connected to the necklace is after Elena states this she takes the necklace off to show Damon that he can trust her. I will talk more about this in the future. Yet, since we hit that line with the Promises of bringing people back, both at the time people they love, we see this parallel/connection that the show did with how the two of them are willing to help each other even early on in the show. Your reaction as always was also great. The song at the end of the episode is one of my favorites also. Your double take with the Bill reveal was great also. As far as Klaus goes, well, you learned more and I'm looking forward to your reaction to episode 3 as you said you were going to watch right after. One of the best episodes in the show and favorite of mine.

Then again when Elena was in the water and they were talking that was again hot 🥵 they have such a good connection it’s hard to miss. I wish TVD was thrice a week I’m so excited for these coming episodes 🤩

2021-07-03 14:50:42 +0000 UTCThe difference in behaviour between Liz and Carol when they learn about what their children are, gives so much credit to Tyler's mon. I like Liz but Carol is such a great mom, she loves Tyler no matter what, and the fact that Tyler is a werewolf it doesn’t change her motherly love one bit and it must have been pretty traumatic to have witness her son transform. So big thumbs up for Carol. But unfortunately for Caroline we cannot say the same for her dad, oh my!! Alaric is griving Jenna and he feels is not in the right place to be responsible for Elena and Jeremy, he feels to be a lost cause, but I’m glad Elena talked him out of this idea of giving up on everything and everyone. They do need each other and he is a father figure to them. Also his friendship with Damon is brotherly like. Damon is to Alaric the brother he never had. The Jeremy Vicky Anna thing will be clearer in the following episodes, and one extremely important new element will be introduced. Damon and Elena. There is no doubt about the fact that Elena is in love with Stefan at this point. But analysing their relationship there are cracks here and there that makes their relationship open to discussion. He came into Elena life when she was grieving for her parents, and pretty much introduced himself in her life by withholding the truth, about who he is and manipulating Elena’s feeling into love him before she had the full extent of who he is and what he has done in his past, unless he was forced to talk about it. He wanted to pretend he was human and she wanted to feel good again, feel connected to life again in which he surely helped her. But it was bumpy at the beginning they already split up twice, and during one of those times apart, Elena told Matt: “there are so many things between me and Stefan that will never work out”. What is the relevance of Stefan presence in Elena’s life, being so much linked to her feeling of grief, she is still very much in that phase. But what will happen when she will pass that phase? So feeling are surely there but there are also element that makes Elena not seen a future with Stefan and doubts that open her subconscious to change her physical attraction to Damon, that was always there, into some feeling for Damon, feeling she hasn’t acknowledged yet, and probably she doesn’t want to acknowledge, but they are there nevertheless. And Damon notice them, because vampire have heighten sensorial abilities they can feel the change of heart beat rate, breathing rate, etc., so he is probably more aware of it than she is. She is still in love with Stefan because they haven’t split up, and also he is in need of help and even if Stefan is saying he doesn’t want to go back, it is obvious that neither Damon or Elena will give up on trying to get him back home.
