WHERE TO START??? this episode was sooooo good!
I am shipping Damon and Elena a little bit too much.... oh boy
Stefan had such a rough go this episode, it was hard to see him like this but he will get better I'm sure... ? ahahah but yeah that was a solid episode it took me to extremes in a matter of seconds ahahah I was happy, after that I was worried and then back to happy lol SO GOOD

Yes, Damon truly does care for Stefan, and actually wants to help him for sure. He does play it off in various ways of course that you are noticing, which Elena starts to notice as well in the next episode when she calls him out on it really. The loyalty that Damon has is deep as you may have noticed, after all he did spend 145 years trying to get into a tomb. He is also 8 years older than Stefan, that plays a big a part in his relationship with Stefan. If you can imagine, this is were some of his deepest hurts come from as well, when you have deep loyalty, devotion, dedication, and faith in something, which is what we see put on display with his search for Katherine. It's why each betrayal hurts all the more for him, and it's difficult for him to trust because where will he find anyone with what he has shown to his brother as well as Katherine, and have it reciprocated back.

2021-04-08 18:05:34 +0000 UTCYes, despite everything that's happened in the past, Damon still worries about his brother, wants to help him and he hates it ahahah and I think that says a lot about him and his loyalty! You can see sometimes that he is taunting him, like in previous episodes when Damon was leaving glasses of blood just to tempt Stefan that he kinda wanted to mess with him but then when he actually saw how much trouble Stefan was having he wanted to help instead of rejoicing about his struggle!

2021-04-08 16:04:00 +0000 UTCIt's really nice to see you also understand that Damon wasn't actually trying to get between the relationship of Elena and Stefan here, but is more expressing the concern for his brother and is including Elena in on this concern by doing one thing, revealing the truth to her and not hiding things. Though, what I will say, is that we see have seen this before, in the early episode when Damon was starting to explain their history, before she knows the secret. Once Stefan tells her, you can see that Damon had been telling the story to a certain extent truthfully, while Stefan was being dodgy and cagey with revealing things early on about himself. Matt: Hey. I'm not saying this for you. I'm saying it for her. But she's big on trust. So whatever you're holding back from her, the more you try to hide it, the more she won't stop till she figures it out.

2021-04-08 13:45:50 +0000 UTCTo add to what Patpet states, you see that Stefan basically develops a superiority complex, this is the first time we see it really revealed, though it has been hinted at previously in what he says about his brother to Elena. When one suffers from a superiority complex it is done to make yourself feel better about yourself by comparing yourself with others. It's why he says I'm the "good" brother, because he can't accept his darker side or actually love himself due to this darker side, e.g. his vampire side. What does this imply concerning his love for Elena? Damon mentions it at the beginning of the show. So he has to make himself feel better about it through the presentation of a "better" image, and to maintain this mask and facade about himself, while hiding the darker aspects of himself. The show does a very good job of setting the viewer up for this, we see the "good" Stefan, while being introduced to the "bad" Damon., at the start of the show. So when the mask falls off it comes a shocker really. Furthermore these views concerning vampirism comes from the influence of his father still as well, were the superiority complex is rooted, in how his father views Vampires and as an extension to how his father treated and viewed Damon. We see in the previous flashback both how the father treated Damon, while at first Stefan standing up for Damon, and also on what he says about the Vampires. This all mixes together to form his views on Damon as time goes on, as well as coping mechanisms that Stefan uses to try to maintain his "good" image.

2021-03-28 21:23:29 +0000 UTC@Evie I have too many of these reactions I can't write novels for all of them lol but I wanted to at least explain Stefan's blood issue here cause in the commentary at the end of the episode it seemed like you thought if he drank human blood he wouldn't be craving it as much like humans with food... we eat a whole pizza we are full and don't want to keep eating... this is different. Think of Stefan's blood lust like a prescription pain pill addiction. At first you are taking the drugs because you need to. It’s medically necessary to dull the pain of whatever injury you have. (Elena feeding Stefan her blood when he was injured in 1x17) The drug works and takes away your pain but you are also getting a euphoric high from it too. Even if you still legitimately have pain you start taking more medication to get high instead of what they were intended for. (blood as ‘food’ for vampires) At first you are satisfied by a small amount of that drug but your body builds up a tolerance to it. So if you want to keep getting the same "high" you got in the beginning you have to take more and more. That’s where we are with Stefan. Like Damon says “the more he has the more he wants and he won’t want to stop”

That actually a great way to tell them apart, and it makes sense when we learn that Stefan becomes this ''monster'' on human blood, why he is so dedicated to NOT drink human blood, because he will loose every sense of control he has! and for Damon, he has a lot of emotions, he's not always happy about them but he has them and that's something we saw from the beginning, this little soft spot and I LOVE IT !!!!

2021-03-27 15:41:02 +0000 UTCCaroline...one word, adorable!! Such a good friend. Last but not list “THE dance scene”, the iconic dance scene, so important for the rest of the show. They both look so stunningly gorgeous. I remember the first time i saw the scene, I couldn’t believe my eyes. There is chemistry between characters and then there is Damon and Elena, (Ian/ Nina) they are on another level, you can cut the attraction between them with a knife that solid it is and it is undeniable, and they both know it.....Elena never looks at Stefan that way and for a moment when they danced there was nobody else they were having a moment just the two of them. But Elena is in love with Stefan and now this is what it is. Damon to Elena, is like the rain drop dripping, that drop by drop slowly infiltrates in the cracks and breaks the rock in two. Anyway, the next episodes is great, be prepared you'll finally get to know why Damon said to Stefan in the pilot “I promised you an eternity of misery...”, what really happened between the two brothers?

2021-03-27 15:17:39 +0000 UTCFirst of all, Paul, saying that he was outstanding it’s an understatement. The writer of this show Kevin Williams after this episode had such an admiration for Paul’s craft, that recently wrote a role in a television show, with a part written for him specially. It doesn't get more flattering than that. Stefan. In this show nobody and I mean nobody is completely good or completely bad and the good and the bad things they do or did or will do, have a psychological motivation. The characters are far from shallow, they are as complex as they can get, and as beautiful, as human, as faulty, as fragile, as damaged, as poetic, as relatable as a character can be. Stefan is sweet and terrible, kind and very scary, sincere in his feeling for Elena but he is liar when it comes to showing everybody that don’t know his darker side, he lie to Elena and to himself, pretending to be human and he is not. Stefan has no middle ground, he can't stand his dark side and as Damon said, instead of learning to control his hunger, he simply denies it, learning to go on will power, his "kryptonite" is losing control and showing he does have this side of him, he is so ashamed of specially to Elena, that makes him look not as the good/better brother he depicted about himself to Elena, "now she knows and everything is ruined". That is why he doesn't like to dance Stefan hardly ever let loose, he is very self conscious, because his bad side is very hard to control. Damon is the opposite, he is all middle ground, he is as loose/easy going as you can get, doesn't care what others think, and learnt to embrace what been a vampire means, that you hurt people before or after, because Damon is a survivor, was already a survivor in his human life (as you notice...daddy issues, the war....) so he puts up a wall of sarcasm, confidence, coolness, to shield himself, because his "kryptonite” is hurt, he feels hurt as Stefan feels being exposed of his weaknesses of being not the “good brother” but been just as bad, both find it extremely hard to cope with those part of them. How much I love both characters is hard to express.

2021-03-27 15:16:55 +0000 UTCOne of the best episodes of this season if not the best, for me is tied with the finale ❤️ I kinda prefer Stefan in human blood (not when he get the need to drink but his personality like he’s more fun etc) I’ve seen the series 4 times already and Stefan really like to lie a lot and hide things...I don’t really ship Stelena because of that! AHHHH Delena dance 🙌🙌❤️❤️ I dont know if you knew but they (Ian and Nina) started dating in real life like on season 2 that’s why you’ll see their chemistry passing the limits.
