This week has been a good one. Lots of tightening up, polishing, reviewing. I finally got around to completing the soundtrack for Artemis. There are a total of 60 or 70ish tracks. I also created playlists for certain sections of the game. That one was a kick in nuts. I spent a few hours working on it, bam got it going. Then started to update areas of the code that would utilize it. Worked beautifully. Next morning, updated the replay code to play nice with the playlist code. Did nothing out of the ordinary and bam. Lewd scenes break completely. Super frustrating since, logically speaking....did nothing that would trigger the errors spat out.... So, of course. Back to the drawing board and try to figure this out...

Small backstory. I work in I.T.....End. So when I'm working out an issue, I like to refer some issues as "rubik's cube" issues. They're the types of issues where you're just swiveling and turning. Going through the process of seeing where something broke. Then, magically...it fixes itself....with no real solution actually done.... this does concern me. However, the playlist code has had no issues in the last few days. So...should be good.
Anyways, I also did more work on the music app. The intro just before the main menu will go over in more detail. But I'm satisfied with how it turned out. "Best of Artists" are tracks featured in Artemis' main story. I created a separate button "My Music" that lists songs separate from the soundtrack cue. I separated them in preparation for future chapters. But if there is a song from the story tracks you like, simply favorite it and it will be added to its own playlist to play during WMP (work/mingle/play) events. Music really drives my creativity, so this was a joy piecing together.

Also, I finally updated one scene from when I first started the project back in August 2020. The lighting was just horrible and....yeah just horrible. It was only about 18 shots to correct, so thankfully it wasn't something that would delay the release more. With my system I have in place with working on Artemis. I simply had to pull up the first shot, correct the lighting, then apply it to the rest and queue for batch render. Here is the scene before and after.

I also updated the Patreon page with actual tiers now. Decided to wait until late as it just wasn't important enough for me to really put together early on. Thankfully, there's really just a bunch of small things to address before release. I need plot the audio effects, foley stuff. Need to review the big WMP event as that has a lot of code involved. The minimap app is in full throttle and there are many rooms to visit for this particular segment. So I need to make sure everything is tip top on that front. Just a bunch of small stuff before satisfying the perfectionist in me and stamping my seal of approval on the first chapter of Artemis. I hope my next update will be to....
..nope, not gonna say it.
take care everyone,
