I just drank a large caramel macchiato, triple shot and now I'm having a small cup of soda. The caffeine is coursing through me like crazy right now...

As most of you will learn, I'm a perfectionist. I care a lot of what I put my name on so I tend to do as much cleaning, prepping, reordering, etc as I can. Last week has mostly been cleaning code and revisiting stuff I put aside. I did do one stupid thing though and decided to spend hours working on another feature for the phone. As I'm going through a library of licensed music, I'm realizing that some tracks you guys may not like. There are planned exploration segments (two in Chapter 1). While wandering around, interacting. I figured you guys might want to listen to music from Artemis' soundtrack. So I whipped up a very janky 'favorites' system. I'm actually contemplating releasing it though, only because while it does work... That perfectionist in me kind of doesn't like one minor issue about it. That is when you unfavorite the track, you have to press the skip button or it will act as if its still a favorite. Very janky in my opinion.
Anyways, as I mentioned...a lot of cleanup. Optimized how the code functions with the features I implemented and really not a whole lot major left. I still need to revise an entire scene, but only dialogue. Super easy. Barely an inconvenience. Another thing is one of the early on scenes. When I first started this back in August 2020. I'll admit, renders showed it how novice I was. (Still kind of am, IMO). The lighting is just horrid. Now I work with a template for new scenes, but back then...really didn't know how to control a scene. So I need to redo it. It's not very long, maybe 15 shots that need to be rendered at most.
After that, I need to take my friend's feedback and correct the spelling and grammar issues. Lastly and final, plop the music and sound effects and do a playthrough to see if there is anything I left out. I hope my next update this week will be releasing Artemis for you to hopefully enjoy!
take care,
