Update about Patreon uproar

I'm sure some of you' all have heard about the drama of simmers attacking patreon creators for taking their emails and tracking them or keeping up with their information in order to prevent theft while stealing patrons emails and collection private and personal information. this is not okay. not all sims cc patreon creators do this. this is very drastic behavior and I assure you I do not keep any of your information. patreon gives every single creator account access to all patrons emails for corresponding with messages or catching fake pledges to keep people from scamming with payments. nothing more. we do not keep your information. creators who do this and share it are wrong. I do not hold onto your information. my only way of knowing who is trying to scam pledges is to document their emails and block them as stated in my pinned TOS post.

this led me to make my disclaimer since I've seen many other creators do the same. do not throw all creators in the same boat as these people. we are not all the same. do not get into the panic mode bandwagon and think we all do this. it is not true.

I do not force anyone to pay for my content and I don't condone this kind of doxing behavior..I also have to add that being upset about patreon being used to make profit for our work is not wrong. I'm unsure what caused this to happen from a creator's pov I assume it's to prevent theft, but stealing cc is just as wrong as stealing information. nobody owns your content no matter how many people make excuses you decide what you want to do with it, if you don't like that make content yourselves. and as a creator you do not get to take it upon yourself to take anybody online personal information to cause harm over your content. there are laws in place to protect creators from having to do things like this over digital assets and you let professionals handle it the proper way on our behalf

I do not believe that anyone should stalk or dox or expose anyone's personal information online to make them vunerable to all kinds of attacks for a pixel game. this is not worth your safety from neither side... it is too common online for expose culture and cancel culture to care more about the drama and stalking than someone's safety.  I know what being gangstalked is like. it is not okay. It makes you feel anxiety and afraid and that you need to have police on standby at all times. it is too common and 'norm' for people to feel the need to set up email traps for people and go so far to take their personal information. this is too far and it is too much chaos

I think the people creating drama around this are wrong and I believe creators who are stealing people's private information are wrong as well. that being said, just know your personal information is safe from me, and I have no access to it. I do not know your name nor your address nor location. I can't thank you all for being here enough even though life has made it hard to be at pc and create lately, I appreciate all of you
