I know I'm late to the conversation but I thought I'd add my 2 cents. I really like the idea of Lauress not being tied to Hailey. After all as another commenter mentioned Lauress is not like Altawoman. Allie and Altawoman are one and the same where as Lauress was queen of the Altawoman long before she fused with Hailey. Therefore it's reasonable to assume that she would need to occupy other hosts wherever her duties carried her. At least that's my take on Lauress's situation.

They shared the same body but when Haley got aroused and such, Lauress took over. Altawoman with Allie West was never two separate people. Hayley and Lauress are. I hope it stays that way with whomever is the host to Lauress.
